- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 43 reviewsFrom the moment we arrived at Six Senses Laamu, we knew we were in for a treat. The warm welcome from the staff, the stunning views of the turquoise waters, and the peaceful ambiance of the island all contributed to a sense of relaxation and tranquility. We would like to extend a special thank you to Shah for going above and beyond to make our stay at Six Senses Laamu truly unforgettable. Your attentiveness and support made our experience remarkable. We appreciate all of your hard work and dedication to making our vacation a dream come true. Thank you, Shah! The beaches at Six Senses Laamu are some of the most beautiful we have ever seen, and we were impressed with the hotel's commitment to sustainability and care for marine life and animals. It was heartwarming to see the efforts being made to protect the environment and preserve the natural beauty of the island. The food at Six Senses Laamu was exceptional, and we especially loved the breakfast with its broad range of choices. The waffles were a particular highlight, and we looked forward to them every morning. Overall, our stay at Six Senses Laamu exceeded our expectations in every way. Thank you to everyone who made our experience so memorable, and we cannot wait to return in the future.Guest review byOlgaRussia
- From US$1,055.21 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.8Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 54 reviewsIt was a perfect family vacation thanks to the lovely staff, services, facilities and the island. We appreciated the kindness the Ayada staff showed especially towards our little child. Always gentle and helpful with a smile in their face and no matter if butler, waiter, director, kitchen chef, masseur, transportation staff. The service was always impeccable with regards to our necessities: getting organized a microwave to heat up our child's food, getting food to our room, cleaning up the room, getting some dessert to our room. Our Butler Zak was available 24/7 and very helpful for everything we needed. We even received an upgrade for our stay with a swimming pool and direct access to the beach. When asking why, they said: "Because we love you!" Food quality and variety was good as well as the SPA massage we received. The offering of sport variety was amazing from football to volleyball to tennis and kayak. We especially enjoyed our daily bike tours on the island and the infinite swimming pool with beach view at Zero Degree. The island and its nature had a lot to offer: wonderfull beach, crystal water, baby sharks, crabs, bats. An unforgettable experience we will always keep it in our heart and will regress one day for sure.Guest review byAlexandraGermany

Here the highlights: -All staff were so welcoming and warm. -Breakfast was rich full of yummy and also healthy options like kumbucha, chia puddings and all kind of juices you can imagine. -Room was really clean and spacious. Bed and pillow were pretty comfortable and the shower was so good. -Thai and Japanese restaurants were spectacular. -Really convenient to go from Male Int airport since the have speedy boats working 24/7 and in just 35min you’re at the resort. -The bikes to enjoy and explore the island are so nice. -We saw so many marine life at the island’s beaches. Sharks, stingrays, turtles and so many different fishes.Guest review byDominique EmilienneChina
- From US$876.63 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 200 reviewsThis was my second stay at LUX and once again it was a truly special experience. We stayed in August, with wonderful weather, in a beautiful water villa overlooking the crystal-clear sea. The resort is enchanting: the island is large and well equipped, offering many facilities such as a gym, diving center, six restaurants and several bars. The international breakfast was excellent and served in two different restaurants. During our stay we dined almost every evening at Umami, the Japanese restaurant: outstanding food thanks to Chef Jester and impeccable service by Reehaan. I highly recommend trying it.Guest review byIreneItaly

I only stayed overnight in Male and, in general, it was enough. Simply passing though to get my flight home. As expected the city is noisy, busy and hectic. Wow the contrast from the laid-back, easygoing atol where I was based for the holiday. However, I still quite enjoyed it. The guy from the diving company arranged a tour guide for me whose policy was that I pay him what I thought his time was worth. I got to experience the traffic from a scooter (quite scary to begin with) was taken to the market and given lots of free samples of local foods to try and had visits to all the important sites in three brilliant hours. He also introduced me to a wonderful restaurant - The Seagull Cafe- where I visited another twice before leaving the food and the coffee were so good.Guest review byJamesUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Maafushi is, overall, a great place – the people are friendly and welcoming. The weak point is definitely the services. When it comes to hotels, don’t expect luxury. In my opinion, for what you actually get, it’s overpriced. One big plus is that Maafushi gives you more freedom. You’re not tied to a resort – you can move around, explore, go jogging if you want, and enjoy the island on your own terms. You can book trips easily, there’s stuff to do, and it doesn’t feel restrictive.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

One of the most beautiful places in the world. Wherever you look, you'll find postcard worthy landscape. The ocean was very clean, ideal for snorkling and apparently it was a good spot for surfing as well. All in all, a must see.Guest review byÁkosHungary - 8.0

Hulhumale despite being busy like the rest of Male has an airy feel to it with lots of greenery - almost colonial. The East side is quiet for traffic although it's close to the seaplane flight paths - I didn't find that intrusive. The West side has the harbour with the ferry terminal and where the liveaboards anchor between trips. When I was there there had been a lot of recent building work so I would avoid staying there. Lots of options for buying fresh fruit and vegentables if you need and a range of places to eat at different price ranges.Guest review byNigelUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I loved the proximity to Male for ease of arrival and departure. I also loved looking at the city lights from afar, whilst being separated by stunningly turquoise waters and the gentle sounds of lapping waves. The marine life in the lagoon was plentiful and beautiful, and I had many marine visitors near my villa at all hours of the day. The snorkelling with sharks-excursion was probably the single best experience, but the resort itself was the star of the whole experience. The quality of the villa (amazing bed, wonderful toiletries from L'Occitane, the view, the constant refill of free fresh water and Nespresso coffee) and the rest of the resort (amazing food, world-class spa) was the stuff of holiday dreams!Guest review byInaNorway - 10.0
We LOVED Dhiffushi!
We LOVED Dhiffushi! A real taste of a local island, the thing that struck us was how quiet and peaceful it was. We wandered everywhere on foot and loved that the roads are all sand. We were there in monsoon season and experienced some storms but they were short and everyone just gets on with stuff. There was some rubbish washed up on the non-hotel beach areas but most hotels keep their areas spotless. Both bikini beaches were absolutely stunning. Would definitely recommend Dhiffushi as a real gem of a local island. As an added bonus, we could not believe how cheap everything was too!Guest review byClannyUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Dhigurah is a beautiful island with a long sandy beach,...
Dhigurah is a beautiful island with a long sandy beach, without sunbeds and umbrellas, the palm trees lining the island will provide you with sufficient shade. At the end of the island there is a sandbank, which can be reached by walking, cycling or scooter through the tropical forest. There are several shops with groceries, souvenirs and restaurants on the island. There is a lot of accommodation in different places on the island with quality services. The local people are smiling and friendly. There is a hospital, a police station, the Maldivian office and mosques on the island. Waste from the island is taken to the forest, where it is burned in the afternoon, we only felt the smoke from the waste when there was a strong wind. You can get to the island from the airport by speedboat, the journey takes about two hours, if you suffer from nausea, I recommend taking anti-nausea medicine, you will definitely need it when the waves are bigger. There is a coral reef around the island, you can see many colorful fish, we were lucky to see a turtle and a small shark. There are resorts on the surrounding atolls, to which seaplanes fly daily. What we didn't like on the island is the massive construction of new accommodation facilities, I'm afraid that in a short time, there will be more tourists on the island than locals and the island will lose its authenticity and beauty.Guest review byHanaCzech Republic - 10.0
We liked almost everything.
We liked almost everything. Our vacation was relaxing and beautiful. The beach was perfect, with soft almost white sand and warm, clear blue water. The bungalow was was really cozy with sun set view. Snorkeling we saw sharks, turtles, so many amazing small fishes. And they were almost near our place. We had wonderful neighbors and made new friendships.Guest review byDaniela AntonovaSpain - 10.0

An amazing snorkelling beach -no boats or travel required -just thousands of colourful fish and turtles, perfect white sand and palm trees. The concession stand sold delicious, fresh-picked fruit-watermelon, papaya, bananas. We loved the Coccoa beach restaurant and the Black Anchor and the Mango House had fabulous lattes and desserts.Guest review byMaureenCanada
