Great location 10mins by car from the centre, hence it's very quiet and calm. Only noises you hear are the ones made by animals. Well maintained area. The villa was clean and spacious with the windows with only mosquito nets, so it made us feel close to the nature, and yet still very private. Big and comfy bed. Very tasty dinner and breakfast. Kayaks are free to rent and staff is very welcoming and helpful.

We had an amazing two night stay! The beach in front of the property is gorgeous. There are hammocks in the water, swings, kayaks, paddle boards, and chairs in front of the water. The rooms are amazing and so comfortable with Netflix, air con, mini fridge, shower with hot water, etc. One of the best parts is being able to use the scooters to go all over town which is included. The property is out of the town but by having the scooters, it makes it easy to go into town. The property is super clean and the workers are very nice. Breakfast is brought to your room each morning and includes a sandwich, fruit, and pastry. It's basic but good. You get one coffee pod to make in your room per day which is good. If you want you can purchase more. Each day they also restock your mini fridge with two beers, two waters and two sodas. They also clean your room daily and the property is kept very clean. This was definitely a splurge for us but if you use all of the amenities it can be worth it.

Honestly, this place well worths a visit, it will but surprise you. We were atracted by the pictures on Booking, but when there, we got astonished by the place. The place is brand new, opened just over a year ago, and so you notice because everything is new, modern, with an attention to detail to be pointed out, the arabic atmosphere merged with the tropical environment of Tulum stands this place up to one of the beautiest I've ever been. We arrived quite late at night, but we were so impressed with the place that we couldn't but discover the place, quietly obviously, we don't wanted to bother noone, nor the turtles that were on breeding season (incredible experience as well). During our walk through, we meet Julian, the person in charge at night how was willing to show us the place around and sharing some comments about its construction, surroundings and everything, it was so kind from him. The room was beautiful, clean, with lots of space, a spatious bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower, a small terrace with a small private swimming pool, comfortble beds, every facilitie you may need, and all with so much detail and care for excellence. To show the detail of the place, every rug on the place is perfumed to obtain a caractewristic aroma for the place, gel, shampoo, lotion are from Rituals, by the entrance, every room has a small sort of fountain, so you can remove the sand from your feet before entering the room. They have three main areas to eat and drink, one next to reception room, an open space bar/restaurant just by the garden, a second one on a rooftop in front of the sea, coming with a swimming pool to chill, and las but not less important, the area placed just into the beach, Marvellous place, quiet, calm and relaxed to enojy the sound of the sea, or even walk into the sea, as you have direct access. Bear in mind that if you are an early bird, you could catch up some amazing pictures of the sunset by the ocean.

Boca De Agua is one the most tranquil and relaxing hotels I have ever visited. You can spend hours wandering in the jungle between the treehouses, on the bridge above the jungle or in the restaurant and terrace, wherever you are you will be surrounded by nature, birds, butterflies, foxes and the resident family of spider monkeys (they are not spider looking for any arachnophobes). If that nature and relaxation fix is not enough for you, walk down to the Laguna and relax next to crystal clear water, home to many small fish, turtles and more birds. The water is a beautiful 26 degrees all year round, and you can take a kayak (free of charge) up and down the Laguna to explore or put your feet up and book a sailing experience with Cesar (thank you again for taking us out on a morning sailing experience of Xul Ha Cesar!) and learn about the rare heritage of the Laguna and the unique features of the water. Once you are finished you can lounge in the shade of dock, and enjoy drinks on demand (Alcohol and soft drinks are paid for, all water is free at the hotel). When it comes to breakfast, lunch or dinner, the team at the Michelin star restaurant will be available with a host of culinary delights, at each sitting you will be surprised with a bonus entree, guacamole on rice paper, corn taco with more guacamole, cheese, and a tomato purée to name a few. My partner has a gluten sensitivity and the team accommodated her dietary requirements at each meal, they knew in advance at each sitting, a special thanks Uziel for his hospitality and giving us the tips on the spider monkeys movements throughout the day. The menu was varied, with many vegetarian, fish and red meat options, the local fish was excellent, red snapper and giant river prawns I would order again in a heartbeat and the cocktail list had a unique local variety alongside any classic cocktail.

I had an incredible experience at this hotel! I stayed in a Standard Double Room for four nights, and it was a truly enjoyable stay. Service & Staff 👏 From the Aquamarina restaurant staff to the front desk team, pool bar, and towel station attendants, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Their warm and welcoming attitude made my stay even better. Dining 🍽️ The hotel has four different restaurants, but I only dined at Aquamarina. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet-style, offering a wide variety of options. The average dinner cost was around 450-500 pesos. I was happy to see plenty of vegetarian and vegan choices, making it easy to find food as a vegetarian. Another huge plus was having a Starbucks inside the hotel, which was super convenient for me as a remote worker. Room & Cleanliness 🏨 My room was spotless, and the towels were fresh and clean. The hotel itself had a very clean atmosphere. The room was also well-equipped, featuring a large refrigerator, a microwave, and all the essentials for a comfortable stay. Location & Safety 📍 The location is perfect—situated at the corner of the Hotel Zone, it’s only a 5-minute walk to nightlife spots like Coco Bongo and other clubs. I felt very safe walking around, even at night. I enjoyed taking walks along the bike path—1-1.5 km towards La Isla and 2-2.5 km towards Playa Tortugas. The hotel also has a stunning beach, which is one of its biggest highlights! Entertainment & Activities 🎶 The hotel hosts nightly events, which added a fun touch to my stay. One night, a Mexican singer performed, and another night featured a dance show—both were fantastic! Final Thoughts 💯 Overall, my experience was excellent, and I truly believe the hotel is worth the price. I would definitely recommend it for its amazing location, great service, and stunning beach! Would love to visit again! 😊✨

This is paradise on earth. One of the best places we’ve ever stayed and we’ve seen many. Location is great. Especially if you want to relax and get away from everything that hunts you in your everyday life. This is the northern part of zona hotelera so it’s a bit outside of the crowd and party zone of Tulum beach. This means that is the safest part to be in Tulum. But it also means that you’ll need a car or a taxi or even a bike to move outside the hotel. If this is all along your plan then this place is perfect. It’s a small secluded place of paradise. One of the big advantages is the Casa Maria restaurant which at your feet and offers one of the best foods and views in town with some lounge and live music every night. Oh we could spend here every night if we had the time. I also recommend the massage by the ocean. It’s one of the best I had in my life. The ladies were so professional. And lastly the service and the people working here are the best team. With Josmar especially we came to become friends and we’ll wait for him and his family to visit us anytime. Thank you for an amazing experience.

The beach was absolutely amazing. It was really sandy and I felt no rocks! There are also plenty of loungers by the beach. The staff was amazing. They are all super helpful and friendly. Our room was cleaned well each day and they swept the sandy floors! The pool was very large and not crowded which was nice as well.

It’s not a huge hotel in the area, but that’s what we liked - you can feel the personal touch. Also the restaurant at the beach was much better than any of the buffet style big restaurants elsewhere. Great effort for the halloween party and high-end experience in their Italian restaurant Chianti.

This property was peaceful and quiet, we went into the touristy part of Cancun twice and also did a day trip to the pyramid ruins, it was a nice mixture of experiences for us. Harry's steakhouse the last night was an incredible meal, as was the small restaurant next to the pool on property. Some parts of town we were constantly followed with people trying to sell souvenirs, tours, transportation, etc., that got pretty annoying. The Isla mall was very much worth visiting.

As a family with tweens we did not enjoy Tulum & will not be back. The kids were not allowed many places/ restaurants. Algea covered the beach (it was july), the restaurants were priced higher than where we live but the quality of the food was poor. If you are a family I would skip and go elsewhere. Lake is beautiful, weather is great (despite the sudden changes), and feeling closer to nature is amazing. You have good food around, but several places are prepared to have foreign visitors spend lots of money for not-local foods. Seek for smaller non-fancy places to eat in order to taste real Mexico (don't eat a steak here... this is no meat land but seafood instead!). Need a car to do everything you want and need to enjoy Bacalar (highly recommended). Place is safe to walk around 24/7. Buy some goodies and drinks in advance to getting to your hotel to have something handy when everything is closed (remember, Southern Mexico opens late, takes a mid-day nap, and closes not that late). Take a hat, confortable sandals and water-based sun protection to avoid harming the corals. And Please, don't complain about animals and bugs: that is call NATURE!!

Small town with terrible infrastructure. It is a shame to keep it in misery conditions with the loads of money brought by tourists, mostly foreigners happily walking in mud, dirty water ponds, as they walk in the luxurious boutiques owned by other foreigners. You may find amazing nature in many other Mexican destinations in better living conditions.

I have been visiting Cozumel for 15 years, for diving. While the people are friendly and the number of good restaurants has increased over that time, unfortunately the reef has been degraded effecting the diving experience. Its is my contention the powers that control Cozumel care more about making money from cruise ships than the environment, local people or infrastructure of Cozumel.

In the 1990s, Isla was less-developed with fewer beach hotels. The entire north end was one large beach with unpaved streets, rather primitive and exotic, and the experience was low cost. Over the years the beach has lost a lot of sand due to some severe hurricanes and sand-bag berms have been built out to prevent more erosion. The streets were paved with block pavers and the addition of hotels has brought more tourists. These changes are probably inevitable considering the growth direction of tourism and its economic importance, but it's been more or less as it is now for the last 20 years in which we've visited many times. Compared to Playa Del Carmen which has changed dramatically, and Tulum which now has an international airport, it's kept its essential character by being isolated from the rest of the coast, and is still a great place to unwind, snorkel, and stroll the streets, beaches and rocky north coast. There is a singular charm about the island and it's residents and labor force that ferry over from Cancun, that keeps us coming back and I hope that never changes. The restaurants, to their credit, have improved over the years and that is a pleasant advancement.

Very nice beach town which escaped from the big resorts and party places along the Riviera Maya. It has some nice places to eat and drink, so everything you need to find rest and peace with an amazing view and feel of the coastline near Cancun

My FAVORITE cenotes were at Sac Actun and Ecopark Kantun Chi. Sac Actun requires a guide, but it's not as expensive as some of the other places. The cenote is beautiful and they provide you with wetsuits (which helps a LOT with the cold) and goggles. It was a very cool experience. Ecopark Kantun Chi has 5 cenotes but we bought the entrance that allows you to go 4 of them without a guide. For us, this was perfect because we could spend as much time as we wanted at each spot and they were all so different and beautiful. I loved #3, which was an open sky cenote with a waterfall and #4, which was a really cool cave with spots where the sunlight streamed in from above. We got to see some lobsters there too. Also a very cool feature is that there are kayaks in several of the cenotes so you get to explore them that way as well. Another cool spot was Languna Yal Ku where we got to snorkel in calm water and see so many different types of fish. I highly recommend wearing clothing that covers your arms and legs since sunscreen isn't permitted and you are directly exposed to the sun the whole time. For meals, we enjoyed traveling to both Akumal Pueblo (for some simple and cheaper meals) and Akumal Playa on the other side of the road for some more variety.
