The Hotel-Villas Jabel Tinamit are in a perfect central location in Panajachel. The staff are friendly, kind and very efficient. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. I throughly enjoy the breakfast, especially appreciated the fresh fruit. The property with all their plants and flowers has multiple areas for sitting and relaxing. I took advantage of the staff helping me coordinate transportation to and from the airport, which worked out perfect.

If you're looking to relax and enjoy nature and the lagoon than this is perfect for you. The property is nestled in the jungle, set close to the Lagoon with easy access to it. The rooms are extremely spacious and thoughtfully designed. The breakfasts are delicious. And the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, running various activities - e.g. jungle and lake tour. One of the most amazing vacations we have had in a while! The staff, the rooms, the ambiance, clean beaches, conveniently located, everything was amazing! We spent 5 days here and honestly was so relaxing. Wifi was great, air conditioning, room amenities, all fantastic. I will say the private pool was cozy, although the water was not temperature controlled. The staff is wonderful at assisting with setting up dinner reservations, Cenote tours, towels for the beach, etc. We came in October when the season is slower and with lower occupancy was really nice. Saturday night is their beach club party and well worth it. Pro tip, buy water and alcohol from local convenient store and keep in your room. Water is $6 per bottle everywhere and that adds up just as fast as alcohol. During the party, you can go back to your room and have a few before returning for the party. :) Highly recommend asking the staff for bicycle rentals and using them to get to places during the day! At night however, be mindful and get a taxi for your safety. When we go back to Tulum, high chance we will come stay at PPP again!

I stayed one night at Hard Rock Hotel Cancun and it was so much fun!! Our room had this amazing ocean view. The music around the hotel was nonstop and gave the whole place such a fun, energetic vibe. The staff were super nice, and there was always something going on, from cool drinks to fun by the pool. Even though it was just one night, it felt like a mini vacation packed with good vibes and pretty views. Totally recommend if you wanna have a good time and feel like a rockstar.

The scenery / views over Lake Atitlan were breathtaking. Getting there was made possible thanks to Eros, one of the hotel staff, who went out of his way to organize transport to the hotel from downtown Panajachel for us. The breakfast food and portions were quite generous. We loved the views from our balcony and the many pic opportunities at the pool. We loved our stay as everyone treated us kindly and attended to our needs immediately. We highly recommend this hotel.

It’s well kept, looked like a renovation just down. Room is spacious, fresh and clean. Bed is comfortable, bedding is smooth and crisp white. The staff are very friendly. We arrived between meal time, were very hungry. The chef made us 2 plates of food: delicious; that included: white fish, vegetables and rice. The food overall is very tasty. Fresh fruits are a great treat!

I had a great full body massage on the beach with the hotel. They had an offer ... it was worth every penny with the sound of the beach as a background noise. Just perfect!! I stayed at the hotel for all meals - nice and diverse options. Was not fan of anything that was served at the snack bar though.

Antigua is a great location to get a taste of Guatemala.

Antigua is a great location to get a taste of Guatemala. It is easily accessible by private or collective vans from the Guatemala City airport. It is a very safe place to visit for single women or tourists traveling for the first time to Guatemala. The city is very walkable but be aware that the traffic in the streets has the right of way, so be careful stepping off the curb to cross the street. I love walking the streets and visiting the old church ruins. The Markets are full of local goods from Guatemalan artisans. If you have time the local interior market is an adventure worth exploring. The area has a multitude of great restaurants and places to eat. It's a good place to spend a few days, or just use it as a stop on your way to other parts of Guatemala.

Safer than the last time I went to Guatemala - about 25 yrs ago- . A lot of non tourist places to explore. Beautiful country side. The only tourist area I explored were Antigua, lake atitlan, Flores which are well suited for tourist, with all the services they might desire. Other parts of the country some level of spanish is required. I spent 7 months traveling mostly northern part of Guatemala, only seeing a fraction of what the country has to offer to travelers.

The town is charming, the restaurants serving local cuisine are delightful and the summer climate is amazing. 15 degrees at night and 22 or so during the day with no humidity. There are many activities in or near San Cristobal and we enjoyed the local parks at Arcotete and Grutas del Mamut. Our dogs were able to run off-leash and explore the forest. We spent a month at a Spanish language school (San Cris) which was a wonderful place to improve our language skills.

Small town with terrible infrastructure. It is a shame to keep it in misery conditions with the loads of money brought by tourists, mostly foreigners happily walking in mud, dirty water ponds, as they walk in the luxurious boutiques owned by other foreigners. You may find amazing nature in many other Mexican destinations in better living conditions.
