The breakfast was one of the best we had in Norway with very personal service. The table was ready for us with a variety of choices (not a buffet). The atmosphere of the entire property was quiet and relaxing; it felt very homey and welcoming. Finally, the staff was incredible and went out of their way to make sure there were options for my husband with some dietary restrictions. The dinner was excellent and we loved sitting and visiting with people from other parts of the world!

Without a doubt, it deserves nothing less than a perfect 10/10 rating. The location is spectacular, it captures the essence of Norway's natural beauty. Every morning, I was greeted by the sight of glistening waters, misty mountains, and cascading waterfalls right from my window. Unparalleled sense of tranquility. If you're seeking a perfect retreat to unwind, rejuvenate, and reconnect with nature, this is it.

We loved that we were here in off season so, it wasn’t packed with people. We got lucky with the weather too. We definitely will recommend! We loved the hike to the waterfalls, seeing the goats & llamas. We ate lunch in the cute cafe across from the hotel and had pizza in the bar. The walk down the stairs by the waterfall to town was v cool too.

Nice location for all sorts of excursions; viewing the close city, going for hikes in the area, visiting the famous Geiranger - which one can do with a 4 h boat trip each way. We found Alesund more interesting than eg. Bergen (which has loads of tourists).

No need to travel Troll Road when you are able to get to the overlook/ tourist center to have a good look. There is a need to travel Troll road for access to the north to avoid a long circle drive.

It was quiet & with a fresh breeze from the sea, but sort of out in the middle of nowhere with not a lot of hiking or running nearby. We had booked four days which was too long. Two days would’ve been good. The cabins all looked pretty run down with peeling paint etc. Bathroom in our cabin was renovated, so that & bedroom was nice, but kitchen/living room was so-so - especially for that very expensive price. Now staying at a gorgeous high end large cabin for less money that the tiny cabin at Farstad. Not good value for money.
