The area is car free, very walkable with a ton of restaurants & bars nearby, yet not so close that the nightlife disturbed our sleep. The rooms were spacious, the beds comfy and the staff was warm, friendly and welcoming. The Spa was an absolute godsend after our long flight. And the breakfast was truly epic! I think it is the best breakfast buffet we have ever encountered anywhere on all of our travels. Such a HUGE selection, there was something to please everyone. Only a day and a half stay in Oslo and a longer stay would have been better as there is a lot to see. Easy to get around the city and plenty of excellent cafe's and restaurants. Oslo is full of wonderful historical building buildings like the Royal Palace, City Hall, the parliament buildings, as well as a great modern art museum. The architecture is exceptional. Clean, beautiful city - albeit a bit expensive but that is expected given Norway status as a developed country.
