I had an amazing experience at this beautiful hotel! The hosts were incredibly welcoming and attentive — we truly felt expected and well cared for throughout our stay. The location is fantastic, with breathtaking views from the terrace, and the rooms (and beds!) were exceptionally comfortable. Our kids especially loved the outdoor space in front of the hotel — it was perfect for playing and enjoying the fresh air. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway.

The hotel is situated in a tiny picturesque village from the late 19th century by the Luster fjord, overlooking a fantastic view. It has Norway’s best breakfast with everything you may wish, and fantastic service. For extra luxury, enjoy a wonderful 4-course dinner prepared by some of our best chefs, followed by a drink and coffee in the garden. We stayed in one of the modern rooms, which has plenty of space and a nice porch on the lawn to enjoy the morning sun. This is a must see for everyone who just want to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape. It’s not cheap, but it’s with it.

My recent stay at Best Western Laegreid Hotell was a delightful experience overall. The hotel's exceptional cleanliness, from the lobby to our hotel room, provided a comforting sense of hygiene throughout our stay. The American-style interior design added an elegant and sophisticated touch to the hotel. The tastefully done decor created a pleasant ambiance that made us feel right at home, surpassing the typical hotel aesthetics. One of the highlights of our stay was the extensive breakfast offered by the hotel. The wide array of options catered to various tastes and dietary preferences, with something for everyone. The food's excellent quality, variety, and freshness impressed us. We were pleasantly surprised by the presence of USB-A and USB-C ports next to the bed, making it incredibly convenient to charge our electronic devices without adapters or searching for outlets. Such thoughtful details showcased the hotel's commitment to a comfortable and modern stay. Moreover, there is free parking in front of the hotel from 17:00 until 8:00, adding to the convenience and value of the stay. Overall, Best Western Laegreid Hotell exceeded our expectations, with its cleanliness, stylish interior design, extensive breakfast options, and convenient amenities. We would gladly choose this hotel again in the future. For a well-maintained hotel with a touch of American flair, this is an excellent choice.

First off, we showed up after check-in was over - not a problem, we just sent an email and the staff had our whole welcome package and keys ready on the desk. Next, the bed was comfortable, the room quiet, the bathroom clean and nice. The breakfast the next morning was a good Norwegian breakfast - mix of meats and cheeses, different breads, eggs, cereals, and some jelly donuts and square slices of chocolate cake that were honestly amazing. Couldn't stop myself from going back for more of those cakes. Coffee was delicious too. Finally, the locale. First, Aurlandsvangen is an awe-inspiring place. The fjord is vast and the scale will truly impress you. It is definitely something to see in person. The town of Aurland is really nice and has much more in it than neighbouring Gudvangen and a real Scandinavian almost ski-town feel to it. It is a very short drive away from Flam and is definitely a way I would recommend to go if you want to ride the Flamsbana (which a lot of people will report is an excellent way to see the fjords). It's a 4.5 hour drive from Oslo but what a drive. Finally there are roads to go up the mountains to get a breathtaking view of the entire fjord arrangement from up high at Stegastein - my wife is terrified of heights but didn't want to come back down! I can't recommend this place and this town enough if you want to see a beautiful, vast landscape and stay somewhere "cozy" (not small, more like hygge if you're familiar with the term). Oh and I forgot to mention the grounds of the hotel with lots of outdoor seating - you can grab cushions from the chest and they're warm, soft and plush. And it's quiet. It's honestly amazing. Come here.

Very friendly staff and extremely charming place with a view to die for! For me, this is one of those places that are a bit outdated (with clean but basic rooms, abysmal beds and paper walls) and can hardly compete with big hotel chains but overall, it felt like a charming, personal B & B instead of a hotel and that is what makes it so memorable and special!

Everyone will tell you it’s a tiny tourist trap with nothing to do etc and yes, it’s the tourists’ first stop in the fjords and everything is overpriced. However, if you explore, you can find things to see and do from there. It’s peaceful and quite beautiful, so definitely go when there isn’t a cruise ship in the tiny port.

My husband I ended up in Gudvangen because we could not find a hotel room in Flåm. It turned out that we were really lucky - Gudvangen is really beautiful, and less touristy than Flåm. Our budget hotel was much better than I expected, the local seafood restaurant was great, and the Viking village was a very interesting place to visit.

We drove along the bottom road and then hiked to the Feigefossen waterfall. We'll worth it, walking boots are required as rocky and uneven path. The supermarket is easily walked to, Mango IPA, a real treat for my partner, not had previously and apparently delicious 😋

Getting around Luster can be terrifying with one way streets and trucks. We enjoyed visiting the Stave Church nearby and Kafe Marifjora. Be aware there is a small grocery store and bakery in Luster. That's it. If you are up for it, the glamping set up looked far superior to the Inn. the setting is perfectly gorgeous. The host has elegant taste and puts that into the details. Otherwise, Luster is not close to anything.

Wonderful location to celebrate holidays through out the year . Fjords and hike added extra value to the journey . There is a lot to do and view at the place . There is a small supermarket called coop next to the flam station which is helpful to buy necessary items . There are 2 coffee shops at the bus station at Flam . I would not depend on restaurants at Aurland . Flam is only 15 minutes away by car from Aurland, so , it will be a better idea to have food or buy food stuff from Flam ,especially because restaurants are closed after 5-6 in the evening at Aurland in Winter . They say, restaurants are open for longer time during summer . Only problem is public transport . There is not enough public transport facility between Flam and Aurland ,so we had to rely on local taxi services . Lokaltaxi (the name of the taxi service ) was really helpful.
