Our stay at The Kailash Boutique Hotel has been nothing less than an exceptional human experience. It is a new hotel with all required amenities. Rooms are clean. The beds are very comfortable. Despite being situated in the busy thamel region, the hotel is away from the noisy streets. All the staff are warm and helpful. Breakfast has a reasonable variety and is tasty. Mr Dol, the Manager is always around the corner trying to provide the support required to arrange for local sim cards, taxi bookings and sightseeing/hikes/treks.

Premises, hotel and rooms. Located right in the middle of the Thamel area. Restaurants bars and shops around. The area is quite lively but the hotel is quiet. The room is large, beautifully decorated with a large balcony, the bed is comfortable. Cleaning staff are nice and always have a smile on their faces 🙂 Restaurant: breakfast is enough to choose from with wonderful waiting staff (unfortunately don't know their names) who are helpful and very pleasant in their behavior which makes the breakfast taste even better. Hotel Yambu is a short ride from Kathmandu airport and in a great location for wandering around the bazaars of Thamel. Raj, the owner/manager is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and kind. A pot of tea on arrival is very welcoming and he is available to talk about your plans and make onward travel bookings for you. The powerful, endlessly hot showers are fabulous.

Loved everything about The Kathmandu Guest House, it's no wonder it's so famous. A respite from the hectic Street life, yet in the centre of everything. Beautiful room with balcony ( I was upgraded) lovely lobby to relax in, beautiful gardens, outdoor and indoor restaurant. So many little places to relax in. The service is amazing, everyone makes you feel at home. Exceptional staff. Although it's quiet you are still only 15 mins walk from Durbar Square. Plenty of taxis right outside the gates to take you to Boudhanath etc. Travel desk in the hotel for longer trips. Beautiful gallery on site, rooftop bar, gift shops.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming, I enjoyed talking to them all and learning from the gurus too. I loved all the activities from meditation to pottery. The food was incredible, some of the best I’ve ever had especially the Biryani and Dahl Makhani The facilities were great. Huge rooms done really nicely. I felt relaxed and looked after the entire time I was there and was sad to leave!

Everything is wonderful at Ganesh Himal. Room rates are extremely reasonable for my 9 night stay in Sept-October 2022. Love the breakfast time in the beautiful garden every morning. Staff are so friendly and helpful. I have also stayed 2N in another more expensive hotel, but still prefer Ganesh Himal so returned after my trek. Will not hesitate to book here again for the future trips.

In Nepal, both inDrive and regular taxi drivers can be tricky. They often charge more than double the normal price. With inDrive, after you receive a booking, they may call and ask for extra charges. If you repeatedly cancel bookings because you’re not comfortable, inDrive may even restrict your account. This caused a lot of trouble for us. I just want to remind everyone to be careful with taxi drivers and always make sure the cost or fare is clearly agreed upon beforehand.

It's been ages since I was in Kathmandu and I hear it's...

It's been ages since I was in Kathmandu and I hear it's gotten busier. Bhaktapur is a laid back option--lots of history and lots of local life at the same time. It's a walking town for travellers and you learn how to instinctively avoid the scooters. Pretty much every building has a rooftop Cafe of some sort and the views are spectacular. There's a little hustle from guides for hire in Durbar Square but they're pretty knowledgeable and the hustle is very gentle. If you're not interested, you can politely refuse and that will be the end of it. Given a choice, I'd pick Bhaktapur over Kathmandu as a place to hang out.

Value for money ,service oriented , the Bhutanese delicacy was amazing , very traditional and authentic touch. Front office team was amazing and always helpful and welcoming. The room was beautiful, spacious and all amenities placed tightly. The location is perfect close to Boudha stupa just walking distance and very peaceful and serene. Security staff very welcoming and professional. Very eager to come back to this property , I would highly recommend this hotel .

People in Kathmandu are friendly and helpful. The weather was fair for this time of year. A lot to see and take in. Shopping, eating all the very delicious Mo Mo soaking in Jhol. All the Temples, Shrines, breathtaking mountains views, and of course Mount Everest.

Nagarkot , lovely place to stay there, neighbours and villagers are very friendly, safe and secure. In every morning or evening, we walk around Nagarkot village to Nagarkot sunrise tower through pine tree forest. It has good viewpoints to snowcaps of Hamalia range, sunrise, sunset and community villages in valleys. In Nagarkot, we can have fresh meat, chicken, egg and milks all are fresh and tasty. There are a lot of restaurants nearby Nagarkot but enjoy cooking fresh meals , breathing fresh breeze, so nice of community life there. In some day , visit to Bhaktapur Durbar square by bus, and can go to several sites as day trip. Good to learn Tamang culture. For us, at least we want to stay at least 7 days but we found very late so we can only stay 4 nights. We will definitely come back Nagarkot
