A unique and beautiful little town.
A unique and beautiful little town. We spent 3 days there and felt that was the right amount of time. The food was great - there's a beautiful French bakery in town and the salmon sold at the butchery was amazing! I also recommend The cake shop - it's a unique little place that serves beautiful cakes and tea in old school teapots and teacups. Alpacas were great too, my daughter loved feeding them. Akaroa Dolphin tours run a great tour as well and there's a dog on the boat! The local cinema is also a cute and unique experience - it was very nice. Overall great little town and very friendly locals, recommend for a long weekend away :-)Guest review byKellyNew Zealand - 10.0
We had a wonderful stay!
We had a wonderful stay! The place was beautiful, and the view was absolutely stunning. My daughter especially loved feeding the sheep, which made the experience even more special. Everything was well-maintained, and we truly enjoyed our time. Highly recommend.Guest review byBLOOMY - 10.0

Great motel and location not to far from the Ferry at Diamond Harbour. Cafe and Brewery, supermarket and petrol near by. Stunning scenery. Great for quieter travellers wanting a peaceful location and a love of nature. Lovely walks and little bays and beaches to visit. About 7 minutes by Ferry you can visit Lyttleton and they have a market there on a Saturday morning. The motel was very new, clean and beautifully presented with lovely views. The owners were lovely and very friendly. It was a dog friendly motel so I took my small dog who is part of the family. This motel was spotlessly clean and a pleasure to stay at. I will stay again in the future. We ate at the cafe which is near by and also at the Brewery about a 4 minute drive to get to or a 20 minute walk away.Guest review byMorris - 10.0

We had only booked for one night in Akaroa which we regretted as soon as we arrived. The town has such a relaxed vibe & our accomodation was excellent and central to everything we needed. The car stayed parked up as we comfortably walked to supermarket restaurants & souvenir shopping. It was definitely worth an extra night just to relax and soak in the atmosphere.Guest review byJenni RooAustralia - 8.0
The view was great even from the ground floor.
The view was great even from the ground floor. No air conditioning or fans or screens on the windows. Bed was ok, couch not that comfortable. TV was very small There was good free wifi Bathroom was fine. Only one type of tea and coffee.Guest review byAlisonNew Zealand - 10.0

Charming little town with an amazing bakery called "A La Baguette". Plenty of other wonderful shops to browse through and find the perfect gift. Full of history re French settlement in 1840 and British settlement in 1850. It's a really fun drive there too - endlessly zigzagging roads that showcase incredible vistas at each tight turns. Lots of walks in the area too for all levels. I visited in September when it was cool but sunny; I'm sure it must be a bustling place to visit in the Summer months.Guest review bySeptembreBebeAustralia - 10.0
