- From $69.22 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very Good - What previous guests thought, 645 reviewsThe entire manaaki of this place was outstanding. Thank you very much for hosting a short notice space for our Hapū lunch, when our marae became unavailable due to a tangihanga. Your support in this matter was amazing. The cleanliness of the self contained units, cabins, communal kitchen, ablution blocks and house, the property and facilities, volley ball space, carpark area, playground area, space for sporting activites, pool and riverside for swimming were definitely highlights for family highlights. A fantastic place for families - absolutely highly recommended.Guest review byAnesaNew Zealand

Everything is within walking distance, and everyone is so friendly. Jimmy Jacks is awesome to eat at, food is amazing. Our husbands went out on a fishing charter, great experience they enjoyed it. Recommend Big Fish for the charter.Guest review byReeves - 10.0
This last minute get away was one of our best short trips...
This last minute get away was one of our best short trips yet. We stayed at the Avalon Resort, which is one of my favourite places we have ever stayed. I could have stayed for much longer. It just has the best vibe. down to the amazing host, Location and the rooms are just beautiful, (all have your own private decks) check in simple & easy. Makes you feel at home. We also enjoyed the Horse Trek at the DriftWood Seaside Escapes the next morning, about 40 minutes from the town centre. Milli is just amazing catered to my 2 young children and made us all feel so comfortable. the location of the Trek is just an amazing bonus. also the friendly dogs who come along for the Trek. The views are breath taking and Milli and her team are just the best! Our little stay in KeriKeri has to be the best short trips we have taken for a long time. we can't wait to come back. if your looking for a affordable Resort Bali vibe stay with your children or some alone time this is absolutely the place to stay. If you want to do something a little different check out Driftwood Seaside escapes and go see Milli for an exciting Horse Trek Through the Forest, down to the beach and through beautiful bush.Guest review byAnyaNew Zealand - 10.0
Do yourself a favour and stay for a few days at this...
Do yourself a favour and stay for a few days at this wonderful place. There are so many walks, and lots of beautiful spots to explore. It would be a shame to limit yourself to the main street. The museum and the French Printery are certainly worth a visit, as is getting up to the top of Flagstaff Hill and having a coffee from the van on Long Beach. The 4 Square shop is well stocked and reasonably priced if you are self catering.Guest review byAAustralia - 10.0
I would highly recommend staying at Waters Edge.
I would highly recommend staying at Waters Edge. It was amazing to wake up each day to the view of the water and the sound of the birds. The home is a short walk along the track to Opua marina area. I believe that you can also walk the same track to Paihia although we ran out of time to do this. A close car ride to Paihia. There are plenty of tourist attractions to see.Guest review byannaNew Zealand - 10.0
This was a lovely place to stay.
This was a lovely place to stay. We were warmly welcomed by our hosts and everything we needed was provided. It was a real treat to stay here. We visited the Treaty Grounds, just down the road for a cultural and historical education. We hiked to waterfalls and mangrove forests. We caught the car ferry and visited Russell on the coast.Guest review byKathy ForsdykeUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Pahia is a lovely area, well worth a few days or more depending on what you want to do, definitely do one of the Bay of Islands 1/2 day boat trips. A brilliant selection of restaurants in town. A beautiful place.Guest review byJoAustralia - 10.0

We decided to stay seven nights in Kerikeri and use this as our base to explore further North and East. This was the smart thing to do, because being at the tail end of Winter entering Spring, the weather fluctuates a lot. We timed being able to visit places when the weather was fine, and the bonus was there were hardly any tourists. Avalon Resort was a lovely place to stay, to simply relax and enjoy reading a good book on the rainy days!Guest review byAAustralia - 10.0

I have been to Russell a couple of times before but only as day visits so to be honest Ive only stayed in the little township itself but loved that. This time I stayed a night to attend a function. The motel was the icing on the cake because where you stay can make or break a stay anywhere. The view of the harbour below with boats anchored..you couldn't beat. I want to come back..and my friend and I intend to. It's handiness was great. Great afternoon of shopping..something for everyone & delightful 'The Grazing table' cafe for home cooked sweets with delicious coffee. Would have liked to spend more time in the fabulous looking book store..great looking coffee table books on display but I ran out of time. There is something for everyone here. Russell town can easily be walked around in a short time without stopping..but who wants to do that. It's a lovely, interesting quaint place with a lovely harbour looking over to Paihia where you go to connect to main highway..eventually. A day passenger ferry runs regularly from Paihia & to. There are other areas to visit over the hill and the car ferry over from Opua is very quick and efficient. And least but not forgotten..the fantastic Duke of Marlborough hotel and accomodation with its elegance gracing the shoreline is a highlight. I had a lovely evening supportng the Recuse Helicopters fundraising event..it was spent under gorgeous chandelier lighting with all the simple but lovely table settings. Surely a grand gentleman which began in 1827 as 'Johnny Johnsons Grog Shop' by an ex convict come good!Guest review byYvonneNew Zealand - 10.0
Paihia is absolutely stunning.
Paihia is absolutely stunning. I visited most recently in Winter and loved taking the kids over to Russell to see some true NZ history. But the first time I visited was Summer and that is when you should definitely visit. Its out of this world. Great food outlets, pubs, walks and views. What a true paradise!Guest review byBrendonNew Zealand - 10.0
