We are a family of four and had four nights in Rotarua. We loved it. We visited Hobbiton, many thermal geyser parks, Redwoods night walk and Secret Spot hot tubs. Plus the amazing Wai Ariki hot springs and spa. Need a car to travel here but it was fantastic.Guest review byLisaFiji - 10.0

Hamurana is a beautiful, quiet spot on the outskirts of Rotorua. Close enough to all the attractions with the added bonus of peace and quiet. Great location - away from the bustle of Rotorua - but just a quick drive to get into town. Super close to the amazing Okere Falls cafe and lovely bush walk. We had a short visit to Rotorua to bike in the forest and have a quick explore of the lakes. We were very impressed with the facilities, the Rotorua lake front is looking lovely with upgraded facilities since we were last here many years ago. We ate at Eat Streat one night . The main part of town is looking tired but parts are slowly getting facelifts, the lake perimeter and adventure tourism available is great. We biked the loop track at Whakarewarewa, walked around the Blue lake, visited Lake Okareka and walked to Jumping Rock, and walked along the Rotorua lakefront.Guest review bySarahNew Zealand - 10.0

I loved the nature and surrounding lake and canals. Good for people with boats and who want to get away from populated areas. If needing food supplies bring with you as the restaurant on site works according to bookings (eg not all day /all the time).
