Simply amazing. One of the best hotel experiences ever - and we have had many. Such a lovely, historical college building, beautiful decor, cleanliness and perfect customer service. A beautiful room and bathroom, lovely bed and linens. We also liked the continental breakfast a lot. I have celiac diseace and had yet a good choise. The breakfast hostess earns our special thaks. Location in the Arts Centre was great with shops a lovely restaurants and a cafe. Sadly the antiquities museum was closed Mon - Tue. Also the museum tram has its stop very close. Keep up the service-minded spirit. Thank you! ♥️🇫🇮

Absolutely fantastic motel! Extremely clean, kitchenette, comfortable beds. The cafe in the lobby is really great, with excellent customer service. We only stayed for one night between arriving in Christchurch and picking up our camper van, but we would absolutely stay again. The staff was so helpful in providing a late checkout so that we could bring the camper van to the motel to pack up instead of hauling everything to the rental office. This is a motel, not a resort hotel, as a motel it is a 10/10! Couldn’t have asked for better amenities!

🌟 A Hidden Gem in Oamaru – Truly Unique and Beautiful! 🌟 I absolutely loved my stay at Poshtel in Oamaru! From the moment I stepped in, I was blown away by the stunning design and carefully curated interior – every corner feels like a piece of art. It’s not just a hotel, it’s an experience. The décor is bold, quirky, and elegant all at once, blending vintage charm with modern comfort in the most tasteful way. The environment is peaceful and welcoming, making it the perfect retreat after a day of exploring. You can really feel the thought and heart that went into creating this space. It’s clean, cozy, and so much more characterful than your average accommodation. Whether you're into art, design, or just want a stay that's a little more special, Poshtel is the place to be. I’ll definitely be coming back – this place stole my heart! Highly recommended

Queenstown is great for a couple of nights if you're passing through or showing friends from overseas. As a Kiwi, we do find it expensive, however we know it is geared towards international tourists. They have an excellent Medical Centre!

We have visited Christchurch many times, the last one 2 years ago. We loved the city, it’s really got a great buzz about it. We enjoyed catching up with friends and also had a super day being tourists….Went to Sumner then up the Gondola. Great views . Also to the Antarctic Centre before a loop on the tram. Ate at one of the many restaurants on the Riverside strip one night, and on another had a lovely surprise when we walked to the old restored church, now called the Church Brew Pub.

    I love Dunedin.

I love Dunedin. Despite the freezing weather, it has a gothic and quirky charm which I love. It has the best architecture of any NZ city and is compact enough that it doesn't take long to get anywhere. There is plenty to do, especially if you're lucky enough to be there in good or passable weather. The art gallery and museums are worth a visit in poor weather.

I adore Lake Tekapo. Views for days. Good hot pools.

I adore Lake Tekapo. Views for days. Good hot pools. Peaceful. A decent serious hike up Mt John to the Observatory Cafe or an easier one up to Cowes Lookout, both with amazing views. I've been going for years - still small but a good supermarket now and more eateries. It is getting busier and pricey, both accommodation and eateries. On the road to Queenstown so an easy stopover. Go with a car if you can - a side trip into Aoraki Mt Cook and walks up the Hooker Valley are worth it.

Nelson has a lot of speciality stores and a lot of food options. The Markets in the weekends are not for those looking for a bargain but do support local and NZ made and although some were costly, there was a lot of selection of goodies. Stoke the Bach Restaurant was staffed with lovely young girls, and the food was excellent and value for money The Arden Monaco where we stayed has limited room facilities and is not staffed outside of working hours, but the beds are comfortable and with very dark woodwork old paintings and very heavy doors, the facility was well equipped with heat pumps and hot water.

Mount Cook Village is a great location if you are planning to do some walks in the area. We did the Hooker Valley Track, Sealy Tarn Track, and the Tasman Glacier View after which we were exhausted and travelling to another location would have been a bit much. Staying at the village was the best decision. At night you can travel slightly out to get the most exceptional views of stars and in the morning you wake up to unbelievably beautiful views of mountains. If you are lucky you might just get some snow.
