Queenstown is great for a couple of nights if you're passing through or showing friends from overseas. As a Kiwi, we do find it expensive, however we know it is geared towards international tourists. They have an excellent Medical Centre!Guest review byVickiNew Zealand - 10.0

We have visited Christchurch many times, the last one 2 years ago. We loved the city, it’s really got a great buzz about it. We enjoyed catching up with friends and also had a super day being tourists….Went to Sumner then up the Gondola. Great views . Also to the Antarctic Centre before a loop on the tram. Ate at one of the many restaurants on the Riverside strip one night, and on another had a lovely surprise when we walked to the old restored church, now called the Church Brew Pub.Guest review byCecilieNew Zealand - 10.0
I love Dunedin.
I love Dunedin. Despite the freezing weather, it has a gothic and quirky charm which I love. It has the best architecture of any NZ city and is compact enough that it doesn't take long to get anywhere. There is plenty to do, especially if you're lucky enough to be there in good or passable weather. The art gallery and museums are worth a visit in poor weather.Guest review byHilaryNew Zealand - 10.0
I adore Lake Tekapo. Views for days. Good hot pools.
I adore Lake Tekapo. Views for days. Good hot pools. Peaceful. A decent serious hike up Mt John to the Observatory Cafe or an easier one up to Cowes Lookout, both with amazing views. I've been going for years - still small but a good supermarket now and more eateries. It is getting busier and pricey, both accommodation and eateries. On the road to Queenstown so an easy stopover. Go with a car if you can - a side trip into Aoraki Mt Cook and walks up the Hooker Valley are worth it.Guest review byHeatherAustralia - 10.0

Te Anau is a beautiful town, set on the shores of a lake, with close access to Milford and Doubtful Sounds. The main shopping centre offers lots of different restaurants and take away options. There is also a big supermarket for supplies. There is a lovely gift shop in Te Anau, as well.9Guest review byNarelle PattersonAustralia - 8.0

Nelson has a lot of speciality stores and a lot of food options. The Markets in the weekends are not for those looking for a bargain but do support local and NZ made and although some were costly, there was a lot of selection of goodies. Stoke the Bach Restaurant was staffed with lovely young girls, and the food was excellent and value for money The Arden Monaco where we stayed has limited room facilities and is not staffed outside of working hours, but the beds are comfortable and with very dark woodwork old paintings and very heavy doors, the facility was well equipped with heat pumps and hot water.Guest review byKimNew Zealand - 10.0

Mount Cook Village is a great location if you are planning to do some walks in the area. We did the Hooker Valley Track, Sealy Tarn Track, and the Tasman Glacier View after which we were exhausted and travelling to another location would have been a bit much. Staying at the village was the best decision. At night you can travel slightly out to get the most exceptional views of stars and in the morning you wake up to unbelievably beautiful views of mountains. If you are lucky you might just get some snow.Guest review byWaldoNew Zealand - 10.0

The main reason for visiting was the hot pools which did not disappoint. The Forrest also was a highlight with plenty of options for walks. We enjoyed the sculpture walk and even found a fairy house trail nearby. Plenty of places to eat.Guest review byDawnNew Zealand - 10.0
