Love the mulled wine (the best I've ever had in nz). The restaurant was full and the food was amazing, we had seafood chowder, pork ribs, and a burger. The room is spacious and love the idea of providing the electronic blanket.

Very attentive owner who seems to love every inch of his place and aimed to share this feeling with the guests. Every detail in the suite is useful and brings comfort and feeling at home. Jacuzzi is a great option. One and only place for hedonists who want to get more than backpackers’ places usually offer. The Brie in Cyprus Tree is smth you cannot miss, must have.

Perfect place to stay if you are doing Tongariro Crossing or other tracks in Tongariron National Park - our host arranged shittle bus for us, also provided packed lunch for our hiking. What wonderfull greeting from Alison and Ron and what a beautiful accommodation. Very comfy beds, each with own shower room (small but very functional). Alsion had already setup the table for breakfast the next morning, cereal, croissants, milk, juice, butter, jams ..... use of microwave, fridge, washing machine.Gas fireplace made it very cosy and our son was super happy to have the extra TV channels to watch the football world cup. Unfortunatly only stayed one night so did not see much of outside ameneties of the village but would have happilly stayed 4-5 days extra ... specially due to such a wonderfull, welcoming, helpfull couple, Alison and Ron !

We like the bunkrooms great for the kids, and the ensuite is a bonus to have. Four-square and gas station close by. Great service from the owner, very friendly to talk to. Kids enjoyed the family and games room with the tv, ping pong set, and arcade game. Kept the kids busy!! The shared kitchen was great with all the equipment needed. Thank you for a great stay!!!

It was raining when I arrived. I got out of the car to beautiful music playing outside which flowed inside. Such a lovely welcome coming in from the cold. My ensuite room was very tidy, clean and warm and bed / pillows were comfy. Loved the night lights down hallway, creating a warm atmosphere. The host was lovely too sorry I did not get your name.

The empty Chateau is a shame but we hope that will be sorted soon. The neglected buildings in the village on both sides of Bruce Road is not a good look. Hopefully they will be restored and have tenants soon. We understand Covid and the uncertainly around the sale of the ski field had a big influence but we hope that it would be fixed soon

National Park walks were stunning and the area truly deserves its World Heritage status. You could choose the difficulty and timing of your hikes. Easy to find your way round. Use some sandfly repellent and soother on hikes as you might be bitten. The bites are not pleasant and take a few days to stop itching. We had great accomodation which allowed us to self-cater- so no restaurant reviews.

Roomy, relaxing, peaceful, clean - had most of what we needed. A few basic things missing that would have been appreciated - salt, soap, dishcloth, lock on bathroom door, working oven/grill. But over-all we enjoyed the stay and it met our needs for a 2 night stay

It was a great experience. Mountain was warmer up the to & colder at the bottom. It's wise to go up the gondola ride see the mountain close up front. There is snow field up the top for seating & restaurant. National park is just mesmerising very iconic. Worth visiting. I would go again next time for the crossing.

Ohakune is a town still recovering from COVID and some not so good ski seasons, but it is beautiful and well worth the visit. Apart from skiing and snowboarding, the mountain is a beautiful place to hike, mountain bike, or just visit for the view. Ohakune is small and easy to get around, with great cafes and restaurants. The ski shops are fantastic with really helpful staff (TCB is amazing).

The management is chaotic. I lost my ski poles. It took me an hour to find them among three girls. I found that all their equipment was someone else's. I was shocked. There were too many novices. My friend's child was hit three times in one day. It was really dangerous.
