- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 235 reviewsGerald’s Hotel was excellent!! Everything we needed for a short break away ,the breakfast was continental style ,fresh fruit followed by eggs (done as you wanted)toast ,butter and jam ,we loved the homemade bread , also juice coffee and tea , enough to set you up for the day . The room was very nice if simple ,but you needed no more .The staff were very friendly and on hand if you needed anything . We hired a golf cart for 1 day ,Gerald arranged this for us . We wished we had stayed longer ,and will definitely return .Guest review byKimSpain
- From US$196.90 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 278 reviewsGreat hosts! Bryan and Cristina were full of helpful information and incredibly nice, pleasant people. We traveled midweek and during the rainy season...the tranquility and lack of crowds was perfect for a relaxing retreat. The beach right next to the hotel was empty and picturesque, except for the plastic trash that washed ashore! Stop being so lazy and gross, humans!! :))Guest review byGrantUnited States
- From US$110 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 136 reviewsI liked everything. The place was charming, the rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast was lovely. Most of all, Nicola was exceptionally kind and helpful, assisting us to rent a golf cart and arrange for a snorkeling trip as well as telling us many things about the island. She went well above the usual level of customer service.Guest review byMaryCanada

The island does have a lot of hills so if you plan on walking be in shape or you will be winded. I like exercise so for me it was great, not hard at all. Mar y oro did pick us up from the port with our luggage. You can also rent a golf cart right at the port where ferry lands, There was 3 small shops for buying things, limited supply and expensive (its an island) plan on bringing everything you need.Guest review byBrian - 10.0

For a relaxing getaway with stunning views, El Remanso is the perfect choice. Our stay was magical, with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and a serene atmosphere. (The photos do not do it enough justice). I visited to celebrate my birthday, and to my delight, the team prepared a special surprise for me! A heartfelt thank you to Hanik and Ehran, who were exceptional hosts. Their warmth and attentiveness made our experience unforgettable, especially with the upgrade to a spectacular room and great activity recommendations. The hotel is beautiful, located by what we believe is the most pristine beach on the island. Our spacious room was well-equipped, and waking up to the ocean view was a highlight. The shared kitchen is a nice touch for meal prep. I recommend bringing food for breakfasts and snacks. You might consider packing items to make sandwiches and purchasing the spectacular baguette from La Choza, which is just a short walk from the hotel. Their food is fantastic! That said, don’t miss La Choza, a delightful restaurant run by Jean-Baptiste and Eli, offering delicious local cuisine in a cozy, welcoming setting. I also recommend exploring the trail between the beach at Saboga Lodge and La Choza beach. The path, surrounded by rocks, nature, and the ocean, truly makes you feel like you’re in a scene from Star Wars. If you decide to walk to find the 500-year-old tree, be sure to bring mosquito repellent, as it can be quite helpful. Good luck finding it—we weren’t able to locate it ourselves! Without a doubt, El Remanso is a hidden gem. We’re already dreaming of our next visit to this slice of paradise!Guest review byAnonymous - 6.0
The island is small, and there's not much to do around here.
The island is small, and there's not much to do around here. No bars or places to hang out after sunset. Restaurants and supermarkets close early; by around 7:30 PM, everything was closed, so we couldn't find anywhere to have dinner. However, we ended up eating at Casa Angelina, and the food there was GREAT. The places here didn't really appeal to us based on their appearance; everything seems a bit neglected and abandoned. Despite that, the food is still excellent, although you wouldn't think so at first glance. On the other hand, the beaches were beautiful. I would recommend renting a golf cart to get around the island.Guest review bySaraAndorra - 10.0
Beautiful island . Perfect for family time and relaxing.
Beautiful island . Perfect for family time and relaxing. Gorgeous, pristine beaches with soft sand and warm water. We mostly ate at our hotel but the food at Pimienta y Sal was really good too. Pimienta y Sal is right on Playa Larga which was my favorite beach of the three we visited. You can rent a golf cart at your hotel to get around the island, which is also very walkable too. Going to contadora next time, I would take one of the small planes that come in daily several times a day, especially if you’re pressed for time to get back to Panama City. The ferri ride is ok but I takes 2 hours each direction. The plane ride is only $20 more and it’s a lot faster. I would have really liked to have had the time to stay a couple days longer. We had a wonderful time!!!Guest review byFlorisabelUnited States
