It was perfect. From the first message i sent to staff via booking to the last transfer to railway station. Amazing place, thank you so much! They helped us with everything: transfer, driver, guide. Breakfast was so good, we really enjoyed. Staff was very friendly. Dinner was good too, thanks to chef. It was warm in the room, we had a fireplace and a nice view.

It's a lovely property in a very good location. We were so busy during our stay that we didn't have time to enjoy the gardens. The owner is helpful and so patient with my broken Spanish. Another employee who also works at the front desk speaks perfect English. The room was spacious and clean with a wonderful hot shower. The breakfast was very nice.

We only had a short stay before our trip to Machu Picchu, but we were very satisfied. The hotel was clean, quiet, and had comfortable beds. Friendly service at reception, and we appreciated the breakfast box for our early departure. It was also conveniently close to the train station. No complaints—we’d be happy to return!

    It is my second stay at La Casona de Yucay, and my third visit there in 2023 (after 2 nights in 2018 and 2022 just visiting the place). Its location is very good, the rooms nice with big windows, clean and cozy. All staff are wonderful people, always very helpful and making you feel 'at home'. We stayed for 10 nights in total (3 nights and 7 nights) as we were hiking, resting, online working. I also has its very own charm with its architecture and beautiful gardens. We always moved in the micro buses to Urubamba or other places in the valley. I loved staying at Casona de Yucay, it is a magical place. I will come back.

    Beautiful location by the fast flowering river in the Center of the sacred valley. The hotel is set around and ancient hacienda with multiple courtyards, terraces and a museum and cinema. The gardens are perfection, the pool, lakes and island chapel all lovely. The spa is world class and the chef worthy of international recognition. And the staff……. In our experience Peruvians are the warmest and most welcoming of people and it seemed that the best of those traits were in abundance here.

    The proactive care taken by the staff at Explora to organise a smooth arrival and departure, as well as the constant check-in and courtesy, the beauty of the site, the comfort of the beds, the sate room to details and room set up for the night, the spa (perfect to relax after a day adventuring), the experiences offered, the books about Peru in the lounge area, the awesome guide.     Nice location, outside of any busy place even though it was a bit tricky to get there by taxi. When we arrived it was very quiet and I don’t know if anyone else was staying in. It’s cozy and close to nature but it needs to be improved with more staff and more options for food. Some ambient music during dinner or breakfast would be nice. The spa wasn’t hot enough and you have to pay extra for this.

    Beautiful oasis in the sacred valley. Whole hotel felt so secluded and relaxed, with beautiful grounds. Rooms were large and cosy, with fireplaces and massive bathrooms. Breakfast was lovely each morning, dinner at the hotel was really top standard and staff were lovely. Plus all the profits go to supporting the school so you feel good for staying there!

    Exceptionally amazing hotel! Absolutely loved the location overlooking the beautiful mountains. The hotel is stunning decorated with amazing hand crafted local Peruvian pieces which made the hotel feel warm and inviting. The service was excellent particularly from Edgar.     Ollantaytambo is a gem of a town, my favorite so far of the Sacred Valley towns I have stayed in. The historic part of town feels like it must have felt with the Incas were living there in precolonial days. The streets are kept immaculately clean. Everything you might need is within short walking distance but does not intrude on the authenticity of the town. The views of the Inca ruins on all sides take you back in time. I would gladly go back for a longer stay. The constant flow of large tourist vans down the main street can be a bit annoying as they don't seem to belong, but you can avoid this. One great thing about Kamma Guest House is that it is not in the main stream.

    Pisac is a great place to acclimatize if you are coming into the highlands from Lima or Amazon basin. It is charming small town with lots of historical interest. Archeological Pisak is well worth spending some time on. If you are looking to acclimatize to higher altitudes, Pisak is a better starting point that Cusco because the altitude is about 1500 ft lower and it is closer to Sacred Valley attractions.

    Awesome characterful town well worth an overnight stay. We would love to return. The archeological site is stunning but don’t forget to spend some time exploring Pinkuylluma. The hike is steep and challenging but short and so worth it.

    Urabamba is a wonderful local feeling town with a nice square where you can find very good restaurants. There is a Saturday vendor market around the square and a big fresh market every day only a few blocks from the ,main square. Easy to navigate. I ate at Forty, Big A and Migas. All amazing food.

    The Pisac archeological park is very interesting and takes 2 - 4 hours to see. Take the taxi up to the site and consider walking down back to the townsite through the park to see additional ruins. Several good restaurants and coffee shops in Pisac. Easy to walk anywhere in town. Central plaza is a pleasant. Short drive from Cusco, could do as a day trip.

    Strongly recommend to stay in the city instead of doing your Machu Picchu trip from Cusco directly. It would be much less tiring and the city of Ollantaytambo is very cosy and comfortable. Specially if you are coming from outside Cusco and flying in, my recommendation to fly into Cusco and go straight to Ollantaytambo, stay here and visit Machu Picchu. Following by this, go back to Cusco for your stay and fly back. This was a good way we thought to beat the potential high altitude sickness.

    Look no further for accommodations in Pisac!

    Look no further for accommodations in Pisac! This is by far the best choice. Casa de Oren is just outside of the town and the proprietors will provide transportation from Pisac to their hotel. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with balconies overlooking the beautiful garden.They serve a delicious three course breakfast included in the price and offer very tasty and affordable dinner options. Four of us stayed there for four nights and ate dinner there each night (huge portions). The hosts are very attentive and hard working and attend promptly to requests. They treat you as if you are family.We wish we could have stayed longer as this was the best stay of all stays in our two week visit to Peru.
