- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.7Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 106 reviewsThis has to be the best place we have stayed in our whole trip. We were greeted and treated with unmatched hospitality by Elio throughout our stay. Every morning he personally delivered fresh bread and cakes from local pastelaria to the door in addition to the already fully stocked fridge with water, juices, yogurt, ham and cheese, jams, fresh fruits and other breakfast items. We were also given tours of the impressive collections of many beautiful and interesting historic artifacts from different regions of Portugal. We were also super impressed with the beautiful environment surrounded by peaceful and quiet ranch with cows and sheep and vineyard. On top of all these, the size of the apartment, the views from the back porch, the decorations, the furniture and the comfort of the rooms are all top notch. This is a truly unassuming place to unwind and bring the family to enjoy.Guest review byDalei LiangUnited States

The pictures do it justice, the owner and the staff were so warm and welcoming, the amenities and facilities are amazing. At night it’s so peaceful and quiet, you get to see the beautiful night sky with all its stars. The Bed was super comfortable, which together with the peace and tranquillity led to the best night of sleep I have had in a long long time.Guest review byDiogoUnited States

This area is good for many side trips.
This area is good for many side trips. I would recommend visiting Marváo in the morning; then Cascata Trail de Marvão in the afternoon with a little side trip to Espanha (while in the area). I would also suggest a visit to the Museu da Tapeçaria de Portalegre - Guy Fino and having dinner in Castelo de Vide.Guest review byJulie LUnited States - 10.0

The hotel staff was welcoming and available, very friendly. breakfast is excellent with food for intolerants and seasonal fruit. The hotel is in a very quiet place and the beds are super comfortable. Not much in the town itself except for the unique tapestry museum - a must see. And an outstanding restaurant on the far southern (?) edge of town. There are easy excursions to two nearby castle towns well worth seeing.Guest review byTimothyUnited States - 10.0

Castelo de Vide is a charming and peaceful hilltop town full of history and character. With its medieval castle, cobbled streets, and beautifully preserved Jewish quarter, it feels like stepping back in time. The views over the Alentejo hills are breathtaking, and the atmosphere is calm and welcoming. It’s the perfect destination for a quiet getaway, surrounded by nature, culture, and authentic Portuguese charm. Ideal for slow travel and those looking to unwind in a truly special place.Guest review byLuisMGLDSpain - 8.0

I know the village, as I was born and raised in another small village nearby, Seda. It has everything you need from shops to bank, pharmacies, swimming pool , cafes, petrol stations and it is very close to a main road, A23, which can take you everywhere in Portugal. Perfect if you look for a place where you can switch off your brain from work for a few days. When there try a wonderful delicacy called Tecolameco, divine.Guest review byMarcoUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The hotel is very well located in the town, it has excellent parking and great views out over the surrounding countryside. I found the staff were very helpful in where to go & visit and provided annotated directions on a local map. During my visit the restaurant wasn't open but there are plenty off options in the townGuest review byStephenUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Marvão is a small village high on a mountain, with a view that's enough to make you climb. It's a shame there aren't more entertainment, restaurants, and bakeries that would allow you to spend more time in the village. The castle is worth a visit.Guest review byOrlandoJRPortugal - 8.0
It doesn't have much to do.
It doesn't have much to do. If you are going to relax and be in nature, it can be great. But we were expecting to find more leisure options, like water sports and hiking. You can go on your own and with your own equipment, but we couldn't find companies who provide them. Also, there are not many restaurants to pick.Guest review byAmandaSpain
