We missed a few of our scheduled days in Lisbon due to plane issues, but once we got there, it was magical. The people are incredibly friendly, most speak English (or are willing to humor you if you want to try Portuguese). There are numerous restaurants, tours easily accessible, great views, lots to see and do, and lots of shopping. Beach and rugged cliff coastline was a good combo . Excellent choices of restaurants from higher end ( Bougain) and simpler but good . The Paula Rego centre was a major draw for me and I wasn’t disappointed . Pretty parks to stroll in the shade too. The harbour and beaches are buzzing. If I’d have had longer I’d have hired a bike and cycled along to Estoril and the other direction to the lighthouse and beaches . The train service along the coast is reasonably priced and reliable. Oeiras is a suburb of Lisbon, so not overwhelmed by tourists. We found some great places to eat that were appreciative of our custom. There was a fantastic vegan restaurant just outside the town centre (Alma Veg). The staff at Goa Square were friendly, helpful, and always available with recommendations. The rooms themselves were spotless and well-maintained, making for a comfortable stay. Plus, the location in Amadora is great for exploring Lisbon. There are plenty of sights nearby, and it's easy to get around.
