We had a wonderful stay at Timian Chalet! The chalet is beautifully designed, combining modern comfort with a warm, cozy atmosphere. Everything was spotless, and you can tell that a lot of attention has been given to every little detail. The hosts are incredibly kind and welcoming, always ready to help and make you feel at home. The location is quiet and relaxing, yet also a great base for exploring the beautiful surroundings of Miercurea Ciuc. The rooms are comfortable and well-equipped, and the common areas, including the terrace, are perfect for spending quality time together. It truly feels like a “home away from home.” We highly recommend Timian Chalet and we are already considering booking a longer stay there.

Best location in the Gyergyo mountains. Good breakfast, cozy rooms, very nice people. Outside also nice and beautiful view to the mountains. Hiking possible really near, start from the hotel on foot, just aware of the bears. Its a restaurant also with a really good menu. The water tank was really cool one night, also they can arrange grill parties with many accessories.

    I liked the that the hotel was quiet and clean. The facilities were well maintained and working during our short weekend stay. There was a large amount of pools and spas and the hotel has a large outdoor area. The staff were polite and there when you needed them and not in your face when you didn’t. Continental breakfast was diverse and enjoyable, there were food options for everyone. I liked their egg omelette, breaded egg and pickles cucumber and red peppers.

    It's nice quiet. We got the "Hovirag" house which is the closest to the restaurant. It was clean and cozy. Staff was kind and helpful, they try to help with any problem you have. You will not have the possibility to choose between types of foods but what you get is delicious :) There are 2 parking places you can use, you can pay with card. You may meet with 2 friendly dogs and a cat at the yard.

    The secluded and quiet location in the middle of nature pleasantly surprised me, the nice cottages offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere... Parking in front of the cottage, a place to make a barbecue, the rail rustling lazily in front of the cottages...     the location was perfect, we were surrounded by rocks and it’s only 10 minutes walk to the center. Also there is via ferrata Wild Ferencz close to Lacu Rosu / accommodation, but the equipment is hard to find if you don’t have your own. There is a small kitchen as a part of accommodation. There is some basic equipment available, like a pot, plates and a cutlery.

    The swimming pool and the view were the highlight of our stay. The water in the pool is WARM, it's such a pleasant experience. The mountain view from our room was breathtaking as well.     The house was warm and cozy. Close to some of the hiking routes and not too far from the lake and the supermarket. For the cost we paid the conditions were more than ok. Recommend. The hosts were extra. They provided coffee and made the fire so it would be nice and cozy which was excellent after a long hike.

    Small town, it still has a few interesting things, like hockey and ice skating that is one of the sports that is popular in the region. There is also a castle and a pedestrian street with different shops restaurants and cultural houses, I went to a house of music where they had csángó music that was interesting.

    Not a good destination unless you are there for spa treatment. There is almost nothing else to do except for couple of experiences which usually are not available as there are too few people around. Bear presence is extremely likely which makes hiking impossible.

    Gheorgheni is a small city, with a fortified church and nice streets, but not more than 3 hours are necessary for visiting it. Even so, it is very well placed, at a reasonable distance from Rosu Lake, Bobsleigh track Lacul Rosu and Bicazului Gorges.

    Always one of my favorite places to visit.

    Always one of my favorite places to visit. Grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants on the shore (with a view!) then go and walk the easy trail circling the Red Lake through the forest. The Langos and ice cream are very good in the area! It can get a bit crowded during peak season so it's worth seeing during the off-season as well (winter especially!).
