It was pretty great. We wanted to soak a little in the pool after a long day in the saddle and got everything we wanted out of it. The spa & pool facilities are great, there's a dry & wet sauna, a whirlpool and a very beautiful salt grotto upstairs. Breakfast was great and the fridge was stocked with snacks & chocolate for late night munchies - which i very much appreciated. Staff was nice and helpful. There's no fenced off parking but that wasn't an issue because people up north are generally very nice and it's pretty quiet compared to any large city in Romania. 10/10 as far as i'm concerned. The room is modern and comfortable, the bed is comfortable and the shower is good. The pool is heated and has a jacuzzi in the pool, also another jacuzzi in the spa area, as well as a steam room and sauna. The restaurant food is good but way overpriced. The inclusive breakfast was good. The staff was very nice and helpful. The parking on the 4th floor is convenient when your room is on the 4th or 5th floor. Vișeu de Sus is a very good choice for a successful vacation, because: you can walk with Mocanița(steam-powered locomotive), you can hike to the Horse Waterfall, you can visit the Bârsana Monastery or the Merry Cemetery in Săpânța. Borsa was previously the center of Marmarosz mining region. The town developed mainly for miners was not beautiful. If the authorities of Borsa wish to transform the town to the touristic centre, the city must completely be renown. The renovation of old architecture is necessary. Open electric lines along every street must be cancelled, and all cables should be nested under the ground. Much more operations must be done to transform Borsa into a genuine touristic centre. Touristic resorts mus possess a unique and specific atmospere to attract domestic and foreign tourist.. I suggest the authorities of Borsa to visit Mayerhofen in Austrian Tirol or even Zakopane in Poland. At present time Borsa is attractive for those who are interested in mountain hiking. Our stay here was simply outstanding.
Our stay here was simply outstanding. The accommodation is designed in beautiful traditional Romanian folk style – everything was clean, new, and absolutely charming. Parking was perfect for motorcycles, safely inside the courtyard. The host was amazing – he spoke excellent English, and in the evening we had a great conversation about his country. He even offered us his own homemade pálinka without asking for any extra payment. We enjoyed dinner on a gorgeous terrace, where he had prepared plates and cutlery for us free of charge. In the morning, as soon as we woke up, coffee was already prepared without us even having to ask. And just 10 meters from the accommodation is the famous Merry Cemetery, which we could enjoy all to ourselves early in the morning. Narrow one lane Road leading to the village. I was praying there would be no car coming in the opposite direction.To get to your property you may be on gravel Road. Moisei is a cute mountain village located in Romania's Maramures region. It is home to the Moisei Monastery which is well worth a visit. The area is very scenic and nearby hiking trails lead in the Rodna National Park. For some real fun, bring your ATV. We spent one night in Sapinta to visit the Merry Cemetery, and stayed and ate at Plai cu Peri which was excellent. Would have loved to stay an extra night for more down time but you really only need a day there. The Merry Cemetery is really beautiful and definitely worth visiting. Breb was an excellent village to visit. I came during the off season, in the winter. It was very peaceful and offered many nature scenes to enjoy. I felt very grateful to be welcomed into this community as it definitely felt very traditional. I was always careful to be respectful and quiet and even subtle in my photography on occasion. It made me feel very comfortable to walk around. The fields and the hay baling in the traditional style is very neat. Coming from Nebraska, I appreciate rural communities. It's a very nice place for a relaxing retreat. There are also other places you can reach but you will need a car or some sort of transportation. I stayed in the village as I had come from nearby Baia Mare where I live currently. This is a special place to visit in Maramures. I recommend idyllic Breb!Guest review byAnonymousEstonia
