Bucharest is an excellent city for architectural enthusiasts. The palimpsests of historical buildings, combined with the vestigial remains of communist architecture, make it fascinating. Cismigiu Park was a nice find. Many unusual Roman sarcophagi are displayed outdoors. Gothic feel in autumn, highly recommended. The hotel was warm, friendly welcoming and convenient. The shuttle to and from the airport worked well. The hotel was clean and there were helpful amenities such as tea/ coffee and water in rooms. The restaurant was good value with a varied menu , food was great, served promptly. All staff spoke English, and all were friendly and keen to help. Location was perfect for prompt connections to flights. There are good public transport links into the city too. There is no lift, but this was not an issue as staff helped to carry bags. lovely location and good communication to begin with, with the owner however when showing faults of the inside room they did not agree although there is proof. There is mould in bathroom and the smell is very overwhelming despite leaving the windows opened. I could not stay for more than the weekend with dust/dirt of the room honestly. The hosts were extremely kind and responsive. They allowed our group to use all the amenities. I strongly recommend. We took advantage of the snow and made a snowman in the yard. Snagov is close to Bucharest so you can have a getaway easily. There's a lake you can visit but come prepared to meet mosquitos in the evening and bring a repellent product to protect yourself. It's easy to visit, I ate at Country Spa and have previously dined at Casa Vlasia as well - bit pricy but food is OK.
