Brasov is obviously an old Germanic town.
Brasov is obviously an old Germanic town. The charming town centre is well preserved. Some of the Saxon walls remain.. Nice countryside around not to mention Count Dracula's castle nearby. At the moment the funicular/cable car up to Mount Tampa is undergoing renovation but there are lots of paths up to the top.Guest review byLena - 10.0

Cluj-Napoca is the city where my fellow researchers in the field of biotechnical sciences live. The city itself is beautiful, but the people here are even more wonderful – both in spirit and appearance. I carry with me the most positive emotions after visiting Cluj, and I will surely come back again and again. A city with a soul, and a city of good people.Guest review byVelibor SpalevicMontenegro - 8.0

A pleasant Old Town atmosphere in the city center, with medieval architecture and narrow streets. There are cozy places with courtyards or terraces. It can be a great weekend getaway for a romantic time together.Guest review byMarinaMoldova - 10.0
Sinaia is referred to as the Pearl of the Carpathians.
Sinaia is referred to as the Pearl of the Carpathians. It's long been a destination for people in Romania, Eastern Europe and now Western Europeans and beyond. Plenty of things to do including seeing Pele's Castle, the17th century Sinaia Monastery, take the Tele Cabina up the mountain, Snow Ski in the Winter Time, read the Historical Placards in the Park (you'll learn Sinaia was the first electrified city in Romania) and pay your respects at the WWI cemetery.Guest review byMikeUnited States - 10.0

Sighișoara is like stepping into a medieval storybook—cobbled streets, pastel-colored houses, and a citadel that’s still alive with charm. It’s compact, walkable, and brimming with history, making it perfect for a short getaway or a cultural deep dive. Favourite Places Clock Tower (Turnul cu Ceas): The panoramic view from the top is breathtaking, especially at sunset. Inside, the History Museum adds depth to the experience. Church on the Hill: A peaceful Gothic church with restored frescoes and a serene cemetery behind it. The climb up the Covered Staircase makes the journey feel like a pilgrimage. Citadel Square (Piața Cetății): The heart of the old town, surrounded by quirky buildings like the Stag House and buzzing with street performers. Casa Vlad Dracul: Allegedly the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler—great for Dracula lore fans.Guest review byLiviuUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Its a beautiful city in the heart of Transylvania which has a rich history and cultural background, with architecture that reflects this. Its situated on both sides of the Mures river and as such is predisposed to thick fog, and high degree of moisture. The city revolves around its medical university and facilities. The traffic is a complete chaos the first time you get there with narrow streets and difficult rush hours.Guest review byCristian ȘtefanRomania - 8.0

The location is great with excellent views! The room was pretty large and clean, however, the bathroom lacked proper ventilation and illumination in the shower area. Other than that, everything was nice & neat. :)Guest review byNicoleta DobrinRomania - 10.0

Beautiful place to escape to for some quiet, and just a 20-minute bus ride to the historic center of Brasov. It's also a quick taxi ride to a couple of caves and historical sites near Rasnov. Lots of hiking and a gorgeous spa -- basically, something for everyone. Restaurants along the main road/lake area play loud pop/folk music constantly, so if quiet is important to you, book further up the road. Be prepared that dining options are limited and a bit expensive as it's a resort town, but you have grocery stores and more restaurant variety nearby in the city for a pinch.Guest review byRachelUkraine - 10.0

Fascinating place, very symbolic to the Romanian people, though Hungarians may have different thouths. Lots of fascinating views in the citadel. But also the surroundings are worth while. Recommended strongly!Guest review byJacquesPoland - 10.0
Bușteni really is a gem in the Prahova Valley.
Bușteni really is a gem in the Prahova Valley. Its relatively flat layout compared to nearby towns like Sinaia or Azuga does make it more walkable, especially for longer strolls without steep climbs. Being right at the foot of the Caraiman Peak with the Bucegi Mountains towering around gives it that dramatic, postcard-perfect backdrop. It's no wonder the town has become a favourite for both hikers and casual visitors alike. If you're up for it, the hike or cable car up to the Heroes’ Cross on Caraiman is well worth the effort—stunning views from up there.Guest review by\florinUnited Kingdom
