The view was really nice as were the staff. We were able to get the room a bit earlier than what the sign in time usually was so that made it easy to get our stuff into the room and then left us time to do things in the city. The breakfast was very good! Price was very competitive and taking into account that it was included in the price, I will say that the quality to price ratio was very positive. I would definitely recommend staying in this hotel. The parking costs weren't high for one night since it is lower during the off-peak hours.

Gorgeous decor, friendly staff, (accommodating with request for early checkin which was much appreciated) Great location, excellent buffet breakfast and a choice of comfortable communal spaces including rooftop bar, restaurant, cafe and upstairs lounge. Loved the complimentary tea and coffee available all the time. This place totally exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend. We loved our stay. It was great value for money and we would definitely book here again in the future.

    This was just such a beautiful hotell I am at a lack for words. The design and architecture was so beautiful, probably the best Spa I have stayed at on this side of Skandinavia. The food was amazing, the rooms super nice and the staff very welcoming!! I haven’t been this impressed with a hotell in years. Pure feeling of luxury in every part of our stay, for a very value-for-money experience. Definitely coming back!!

Historic details of the former ship-yard is incorporated into the hotel's design and architecture.     It is easy to get around in Gothenburg: trams, buses, and on foot. There are many parks, restaurants, shops, and cultural places. Did not have a problem with the language, but did need to use a translation app every now and then.

    We did a whistle-stop tour of Trollhattan in the evenings of the 3 days we were working and on the morning of the day we travelled back. In that time we fell under the spell of the place. If you like industrial heritage and water combined with nature and clean fresh air, this is the place for you. Travelling in late may we found the temperature to be about 2 degrees C under our Lancashire temperatures for the same period. The place is spotlessly clean. We enjoyed the bridges, of which there are many, the Saab museum and the forests on the mountains were amazing, with an awesome view over the valley to the massive lake that you would think could be an ocean.

    We were travelling over to Gothenburg so this was a great...

    We were travelling over to Gothenburg so this was a great little stop over town en route. We visited the motor museum (which was actually rather good) and took a walk around the waterfront. Some nice bistros and eateries there, all you would need for a short stay. We sadly missed the broadcasting/radio museum nearby as it was closed. The town square itself is nice but there are a quite a few more modern buildings that look a little brutal. We moved on to Vadstena which was a short drive away and a fantastic place to visit. All in all Motala is a great base and to drive to lots of attractions in the surrounding areas. Thumbs up!

    We stayed in Surte because Gothenburg City Centre was too expensive. It is a 10 min ride on the train from Gothenburg city centre, Zone A ticket. From the Surte station it was just a 10 min walk to the hotel. There are buses right outside the station too. Surte itself is a quite little residential place, I don't think there's anything of particular interest here.

    48 hours in Gothenburg Great boat trip through the canals with a very knowledgeable tour guide. Island hopping via the tram and ferry to the Archipelago as suggested by the lovely lady in the tourist information. Delicious coffee in Expresso House Amazing views from the 33rd (bathroom) and 34th (roof top bar) floors of The Clarion Hotel. Fish market and covered market well worth a visit.

    One of my favorite cities in Sweden.

    One of my favorite cities in Sweden. The lock complex is super interesting and there is so much to wander around. The complex is huge! Also it is really nice to have the nature directly next to the river and thus have the historical heritage and the nature close to each other.

    Picturesque town on the water.

    Picturesque town on the water. We were only there a few days. We liked the art museum. We took the ferry to Donso so I could go kayaking. Good meal at Wagner's and I had a great shrimp sandwich at the food hall. Lots of Swedish cider and beer.
