NetherlandsThe location is right besides the mountains and super close to many walking trails. There are big supermarkets and restaurants just in 5 minutes walking distance. The place is quite new and included all amenities we needed and some cooking essentials such as oil, salt etc. The owner was quite accommodating with clear communication. Will certainly go back!

The staff at the hotel, from check-in to check-out, provided excellent tips for rafting and booked rafting trips for us, all of which were well-organised and effective. The staff in the hotel cafe bar were wonderful too. Our room was amazing, it was so warm outside, but we did not even need an air conditioner. Beautiful view. The breakfast was very generous, and a wide variety of local products were available. Very environmentally friendly, with a reduced carbon footprint. Kobarid is a nice little town situated on Soča river between Tolmin and Bovec. There are numerous possibilities of outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, paragliding, kayaking or simply taking a dip in stunningly turquoise Soča. Great location for walking, rafting, kayaking etc. It's a pretty town centre with two small supermarkets, and two big ones just on the edge of town. The cable car isn't working right now - might be a while before it is back in action. But the Soca River has to be seen to be believed - just amazing. The local tourist office were really helpful too. The range of restaurants is a bit limited - burgers seem to be the common theme - but the quality is great, if not the variety!! Kobarid is a nice town by the river Soca with only cca 1000 inhabitants, but as a regional center the town serves a cca 5000 heads strong community. Worth to visit the Kobarski Muzej (WWI museum), the town center with the church, restaurants and very very good ice cream. Do not miss to climb up to the church and Italian monument, check out the Napoleonov most (Napoleon's bridge) and the Slap Kozjak (Kozjak waterfall). These are all accessible on foot. You can also take a tour following a marked hiking trail, see the beautiful nature, the mountains, the emerald color of the Soca river, historical monuments line WWI trenches and forts all along the river.
