Honestly a very short description won't do justice to this amazing location, but I'll try to summarize our experience. I'll start with the staff (family business), they were all extra attentive with us and very friendly. The views/location? Simply amazing and stunning. The farm is on a small hill and it's facing the Grintovec peak, no matter the weather conditions you will get some awesome pictures here. You can walk around the farm and see the stables/greenhouses, basically from where all the food is coming from. The food is made from local products. Majority of them, if not all, are sourced right from the farm. You get to experience some genuine and extremly tasty local Slovenian food. The breakfast option is a must and you have a dinner option as well. We are sorry that our stay was too short and we didn't get to schedule a dinner, but it's on our list the next time we visit! Finally, the room is very cozy and extremly clean. I say this because we stayed in some rustic locations that lacked the cleanliness a bit but it was acceptable. Here we got the rustic look and feel, but everything was spotless. The beds were perfect for us, we slept like babies every night and we woke up rested. Because of this hotel, the kindness of the staff and the nature in the area, I keep coming back. This is definitely the best example of how to keep a guest. Although check-in, like in most of hotels is from 15h, I arrived around 12:30. I only emphasized that I would like to get a room if possible between 14:00 and 14:30 as I have a meeting. Otherwise, if they can provide a place with privacy. After 5 minutes I returned to the reception, the room was ready. Maybe they had extra rooms, maybe it was ready. It doesn't matter. The apartment is quite spacious (we were there with 2 adults and 2 kids) and has everything you need. Very comfortable beds and heating system. Equipment is nice and modern; the boiler in the bathroom seemed brand-new even. Very nice that we could also use the swimming pool from the nearby hotel Ramada at no additional charge. Bled is a hidden gem in Slovenia.
Bled is a hidden gem in Slovenia. The lake and surrounding area are stunning. I would suggest exploring a little further afield especially if you are one who enjoys the outdoors, opportunities are abundant. The choices for dining are many, everything from grocery store “ready meals” to fine dining (do try the local dishes). Bled is easily walkable for all ages, also cyclists are welcome. We stayed in Bled for a couple of days before moving to Lake Bohinj, on reflection, we preferred Lake Bohinj to Bled, it was less busy, quieter, and if we wanted was in each reach of Bled for a visit. Small town with a lot of historical buildings to see and stories to hear, also the tunnels built in the 2nd world war. There is beautiful nature in (rivers Kokra and Sava) and around it that you can visit. I was there two years in a row in September and each time we had a shorter option of a guided tour. Slovenia on the whole is one of the most beautiful countries we have been to. It was very lush and green and has beautiful mountains with little villages tucked away in between. WE love our visit to to Ljubljana, Lake Bled and Postojna caves!! Skofija Loka is a stunning medieval town surrounded by beautiful hills, forests and farmland. The castle perched above the town hosts the town museum and is well worth a visit. The old town features lots of beautiful buildings and small squares with cafes and shops. We ate out twice, once in a Balkan food specialist called Das ist Walter and once in a restaurant near Stara Loka called Inglic. Both were excellent and good value for money. The cafe bar Homen in the centre was also very good for cakes and coffee with exceptional, friendly staff. We also enjoyed two long hikes in the surrounding hills. Superbly scenically beautiful.
Superbly scenically beautiful. We loved walking around Lake Bled, exploring the island and walking up to the castle. We enjoyed taking the shuttle bus to Vintgar Gorge , walking through the beautiful gorge and then walking back to Bled through forest and rural area. Wonderful.Guest review byDaryl
