    What I really appreciated about this hotel is that the rooms were not cold, unlike other hotels where the air conditioning is set to maximum in the summer and can be quite freezing. This hotel truly stands out; we stayed in both triple and double rooms, and they were clean and comfortable, with cozy beds and fluffy white towels. The location is convenient, just a 6-7 minute taxi ride from the train station, and there’s a bus stop nearby. The reception staff were very polite and helpful; when we requested a tea kettle, they provided it immediately. Plus, the breakfast was delicious, offering a great variety of foods. We got a beautiful window view as a bonus:)

    Breakfast was served in a basket with accessories. A wide selection of food from yogurt to spreads. A typical Slovenian breakfast. The surroundings are very pleasant, filled with positive energy. The hairdresser is very friendly and helpful. Dogs were well received. The space for socializing is very pleasant. The toilet and shower are nicely equipped, clean and sufficiently available. In the middle of the lawn there is a fireplace where you can have a barbecue. The cabins are pleasantly furnished.

    Clean rooms , friendly, serviceminded staff, ok breakfast, nice comfy bed and a nice clean bathroom. Easy to find, though it seemed a bit further from center then i read. The restaurant just across the street has food to die for and a very helpful staff. Wich is also great when you arrive late, like we did with 3 hungry and tired kids. We only stayed 1 night and left early.

    I think 10 days to 2 weeks would be a good amount of time if...

    I think 10 days to 2 weeks would be a good amount of time if you are planning to explore things outside of Ljubljana. There if you are just doing Ljubljana then 5 days is probable enough time. A lot of placed of interest are within a 2 hour radius so that makes it easy to adventure out. There are tons of organised tours, public transport options to see things. I would recommend renting a car if you want to do things in your own time. I think these are great activities to try: Predjama Castle and Postojna Cave (there are 9km apart from one another. You can do the cave under the castle but wear appropriate shoes). Walk around Lake Bled (approx 6km, paved pathway, mostly flat). Zipline Dolinka Bled (this does involve some walking and steep pathways). Summer tobogganing (we didn't get to do this but you can see the track from lake bled and it looks like so much fun). Locksmith Alley in Ljubljana if you keen for an interesting/weird sculptural installation. If you into street art, then Metelkova (500m from the main train station). We walked up to Ljubljana Castle, the route we took wasn't too labour intensive but it was effort! You can always take the funicular. There are some great activities in the complex and great views of the city. We also did a boat trip down the river, it was lovely. Very pretty!     The hosts are the nicest friendliest people you'll ever meet! We honestly loved our stay. For our arrival, they left a bottle of wine and chocolates on the table which was so nice after a long day of difficult travel. We were gifted tomatoes from their garden and a delicious freshly baked (by the host) cake in the middle of our stay. When we wanted to drop by a local farm to get some cheese, the host was nice enough to call them to make sure they're open and to expect us. The place itself is lovely and clean. It's clearly been renovated recently and is well taken care of. The decor is pretty and well thought out. The town itself is surrounded by gorgeous mountains and you can see some of them from the patio. The view of the garden is lovely as well. And they also have the most adorable monkeys in their home (right below the rental) that we loved watching on our way in and out. Overall, it's a top notch place and we will absolutely be back if we return to Slovenia, which we definitely hope to do.

You can relax here, the location is not in the capital but if you want to explore everything you can stay there ... the road is connected to almost all of slovenia. the staff were courteous and friendly. they were very helpful against our needs...     Slovenia is great.

    Slovenia is great. Alps on the east, mediterranean sea on the west, same country, distinctively different climate on each end of the country. Beautiful nature, castles, lovely valleys with rivers and waterfalls, unspeakably beautiful historic castles etc. We stayed in Domzale only, did not go out to the city, but the location is great. Just a stone's throw to the motorway and only 20min to the airport. Very convenient location

    The historic centre is beautiful and calm and it's easy to walk around. It's quite a tourist destination so there were many tourist bars and restaurants but we also found quieter local places for a beer. I'm slightly ashamed to admit that we went to an Irish pub on two days, mainly because the beer and wine were reasonable and it was a good spot to sit and watch the world go by. Going up to the castle perched above the centre is worthwhile (walk or take the funicular), especially for sunset. We also visited Tivoli Park, in the wider city centre, an expansive green space with a modern graphic arts museum. We walked there and back, and on the return stopped to visit the National Gallery which had many interesting works of art. We arrived by train from Italy and on exiting the station, the local area does have quite a lot of graffiti. This isn't common in the historic centre thankfully and we learnt later that the area has a reputation for this. Another place to visit is Lake Bled, a well-trodden tourist day trip. We took the local bus, 1 hour to get there, 1.5 hours on the return (depends if you get the stopping service or not), but easy to do and the bus service is fairly frequent although it does get busy and it was a bit of a bun-fight at Ljubljana (Us Brits are used to the etiquette of queueing which didn't apply here!). Bled and the lake are beautiful and there are many scenic walks which can be taken to enjoy the lake and its scenery. An easy day trip. Everywhere we went the locals were friendly and English was widely spoken.

    The main cable car up the Velika Planina is just a 10 minute drive away, and the views from the top on a clear day are breathtaking, and a MUST if visiting the area... well worth ther 26 EUR round trip! Make sure you also visit Ljubljana ... one of the most beautiful small capitals in Europe . It's just 45 mins on the train from Kamnik Graben, and a much better option than driving as car parking in the City is approx. 2.50 EUR an hour. The pizzas at Pri Cesarju in Kamnik are simply the best, and if you want a great burger then '7 Burger' just outside Kamnik is a great option. If you have a car go up to Stari grad nad Kamnikom for a coffee and spectacular views, just a shame that the viewing platform remains closed and inaccessible. The Pekarna Center is a great bakery in the centre of the town, which is opposite the Veronika Cafe which serves the best coffee and cakes! If parking in the centre of Kamnik you get the first 30 mins free. Also remember that NO supermarkets open on a Sunday.

    Spent 4 days here, which was probably too long as everything could be seen in 2 or 3 days. Must do the Postojna Caves tour from here, a magical experience. If combined with Predjama Castle, make sure you give yourself enough time to get there and see the castle (say 1.5 hours) before the trip to Postojna. Also Ljubljana Castle was very good. You can get around pretty easily on the local buses. That includes going to and from Bled, and the airport (both are about 30 minutes bus ride away). We discovered that travel further afield is also possible from the main bus/train station - with an option including going to Zagreb, which would make for an interesting extension either as a long day trip or overnight stay before returning to Ljubljana. Lots of restaurants to choose from in the city. Veganika was very good (vegan food).

    Well worth a visit if one is travelling about Slovenia. It has a nice old style town and within easy car distance are some great walks in the higher mountains. I suspect at busy times of the year and the school holidays in Europe Kamnik will be a busy place and booking early will pay dividends.
