Receptionist extremely kind, made all sorts of exceptions such as free drinks, I got to bring my friend even though I forgot to book for him, bringing local food for breakfast and letting us lock our luggage in his backyard because our departures were late in the evening. The accommodation is perfect, both beauty and cleanliness. It has to be rated ten, because there is no higher rating. The setting is like a fairy tale. Skofija Loka is a stunning medieval town surrounded by...
Skofija Loka is a stunning medieval town surrounded by beautiful hills, forests and farmland. The castle perched above the town hosts the town museum and is well worth a visit. The old town features lots of beautiful buildings and small squares with cafes and shops. We ate out twice, once in a Balkan food specialist called Das ist Walter and once in a restaurant near Stara Loka called Inglic. Both were excellent and good value for money. The cafe bar Homen in the centre was also very good for cakes and coffee with exceptional, friendly staff. We also enjoyed two long hikes in the surrounding hills. One to Osolnik and one to Planica via Crngrob where there is a stunning church with frescos and impressive alter.Guest review byPAULUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The walk in historical Loka. A very enchanting town.
The walk in historical Loka. A very enchanting town. The walk up into the castle with the option of taking a 'hiking' route. Some close hiking routes. A good variety of coffee shops, variety of eateries..from grocery store take out to bistro's to local eateries (Gostina). Friendly and easy to get around. Bus stop very central. Parking availability. It's small but extremely beautiful town.
It's small but extremely beautiful town. Well maintained and lots of local content. Easy to get to the nature and out of the main roads, for biking or tracking. For city bees, nice terraces in old town to sit on sun and read books with local wine.Guest review byVesna JusupBelgium
