- From US$35.93 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 198 reviewsThe Place is just beautiful! Very Calm, private and clean Beach Right in Front of the Apartment. The Look from our balcony was Picture Perfect and we could Watch the sunrise Even from our bed. the Appartement was very clean and comfortable, providing everything we needed. The Water was Great for snorkelling and swimming and as i mentioned, Most of the time, we were Almost alone in the Water, just sometimes a few other people from the different Apartments Belongig to Ao Pong Resort. Michal was very friendly and helpful, we got picked up from the Pier so we didn’t Need to Carry our luggage the Short way. He booked us a local fishing Trip and helped with renting bicycles. Thanks for providing this lovely Place on Koh mak. We Loved it!Guest review byAnneGermany
- From US$188.45 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 907 reviewsThe hotel is very good, small, so cozy. For breakfast you can choose 5-6 dishes from the menu, for example, something like full English, spring roll, pancakes, etc. There are also cereals, yogurt, croissants, jams, etc. You can take extra vegetables and fruits. Good coffee. I really liked the opportunity to go swimming right from the villa, literally a few steps. But I recommend taking swimming shoes, because there are stones. The beach is quiet, peaceful, if you want more people, you have to walk 15-20 minutes to the main street.Guest review byLeldeLatvia
- From US$49.14 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 143 reviewsThey have the best sunrise/sunset on Koh Mak thanks to their unique location. The room itself is very modern, with mosquito nets on the windows and doors, so you can sleep with open windows to the sound of the sea. Comfortable bed, the receptionist lady is very helpful with a big smile. The restaurant is nice but we mostly had breakfast here. The AC worked great. There is no beach but we prefer visiting as many as we can anyway, so it was no problem. There were a few bugs in the room, but it was manageble.Guest review bySandorHungary
- From US$70.64 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 838 reviewsMakathanee was a great place to stay at Koh Mak. We came directly to the pier from Koh Chang, got into the spacious bungalow quickly and enjoyed our time here with an amazing view to the ocean. Close by shops, restaurants and massages (walking distance only minutes). Hotel booked a snorkeling trip for us with only 6 guests which was great. Also nice private beach, also to go for longer walks in both directions. However, a scooter rental is helpful to see also other areas of the island.Guest review byAlissa SophieGermany

The staff are exceptionally friendly and always helpful. The room is spacious and well-designed, featuring a small kitchen, a large living area with space to work, a very comfortable bed, and a modern bathroom. All in all, a perfect place to relax and feel at home!Guest review byMichelSwitzerland

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 226 reviewsCosy authentic rooms where you can listen to waves as you sleep. Never feels crowded and staff take care to serve you very good Thai food. Don't worry to be further away from the main walking street, it's a very beautiful island to take a short ride and find better beaches for swimming.Guest review byRebeccaThailand

There are a few other resorts nearby and a little supermarked at the resort next door. We loved the mosquitonet door, so you could sleep with open door and listen to the waves.Guest review byberitDenmark

Koh Mak is quite small but beautiful and has a lot of nature. Good kick-boxing school. Variety of good eating places Koh Mak seafood being one of them. It is far more relaxed than Koh Chang with less to do but I actually found the peacefulness and serenity more alluring. The people are friendly and it has a up early sleep when the sunsets kind of vibe but also if you want to be out later you can. There are some very picturesque beaches and bars. Also a variety of takes on food By the sea has great sandwiches etc. If the weather turns bad then this is when the boredom may be an issue. However I loved the thunderstorms and lightening shows. Best I had ever seen.Guest review byMarty TUnited Kingdom - 10.0

After researching on Google satellite I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Much lusher and more tourist-friendly than I expected. Though it's a small island, there's enough there to explore more than we could in 3 nights. And it is the ideal launching site to visit the famous diving and snorkeling sites around Koh Rang island. Five nights would be adequate, unless you're a snorkeling/diving addict, then maybe more.Guest review byFredUnited States - 8.0

Very small island which is still kind of rural and not very touristy. That also means that there are not many amenities or fun things you can do. Accommodations are more basic, food or bar options are limited, and you've seen all of the island in a few hours. But you can also have a perfect chill time without any noisy tourist crowds or big loud party areas. Beaches are great. If you want more action, just take the ferry to Ko Chang (once a day).Guest review byTyeJ_travelGermany
