Great hotel with very kind staff situated a bit outside of Ao Nang away from the hustle. Our room was modern and very comfortable with a nice view facing the green forest/rock. There is also a shuttle to Ao Nang which is quite convenient.

The view from this hotel is absolutely spectacular. It was honestly a joy to open the curtains each morning to the stunning surroundings. The staff are really what make it though. They were so attentive, kind, and helpful, and really made us feel special. To add to this, there are so many nice details that the owners have thought of - like the Keereen robes and beach bags for each guest. It made it feel like a five star boutique experience.

The location was great, 2 minutes walk to all the shops and restaurants, about 5 minutes walk to the beach. The room was absolutely breathtaking, we had the pool on the balcony facing the sea so watching the sunset was amazing. The room was very clear and huge, everything was stunning and the staff were all super nice. The macarons delivery every night was a lovely touch.

The hotel is good value for money as the accommodation is spacious, well maintained, and designed for comfort. I absolutely loved my stay at DOX Lanta Hostel. What truly sets this place apart is the incredible family who runs it. Sven and Sunny are the heart and soul of the hostel, and they could not have been kinder, more welcoming, or more attentive. From the moment I arrived, they went above and beyond to make me feel at home. They were always ready to help with anything, from tips about the island to arranging scooter rentals at great prices – and their warm energy created such a relaxed, friendly vibe. On my last day, we even shared a meal together, they just love sharing! They’re simply lovely people, and their genuine hospitality made all the difference. The hostel itself is cozy, clean, and in a great location, close to all the main spots, but still peaceful enough for a good night’s sleep. Whether you’re solo traveling or with friends, DOX Lanta is the perfect place to stay. I can’t recommend it enough, I left with wonderful memories and the biggest smile on my face!

    We had an amazing stay at Koh Jum Resort. The staff is super friendly, and the property is lovely. We called it 'basic luxury', affordable but cute bungalows overlooking the beach. Lunch and dinner food is GOOD, breakfast is a bit basic but enough. Remember to bring your water shoes, because the sea is a bit rocky at Koh Jum. We did a boat/snorkeling tour and rented scooters one day to cruise around the island and visit all the other beaches. 100% would recommend doing that! It's an amazing island, full of lovely locals. If you're looking for an easy stay, a dip in the pool after a full beach day, good food and lovely sunsets: book Koh Jum Resort.

    If you want the beach and trips from the beach to the...

    If you want the beach and trips from the beach to the islands do not recommend you go this time of the year. As three single travellers there were very few bars, lots of restaurants that sold alcohol but no bars you could sit at and have a chat only found four and three of those were a good 30min walk from the centre. Ao Nang seems to have changed a lot over the years and has lost a lot of it's character as it is now catering more for families, which is not a all bad if that is what you are looking for but comparing it with Hua Hin, or Koh Samui, it just doesn't.

    Visited in low season weather wasn’t great but that is to be expected. Beaches not good for swimming and littered with rubbish. The vast majority of restaurants and resorts were closed. This island has a very different vibe in the busy season.

    It's a pretty rustic, typical old Thai town, the locals are lovely, peaceful people Krabi Airport :-Be sure to have some baht notes if you're taking a driver or taxi to your hotel- there are ATMs at Krabi airport but easier if you have cash The Friday & Saturday food markets are great for Thai foods of all sorts Take a long boat ride from along the riverside - a couple of hours touring the river and surrounds for 50 - 100 AUD Riverside Restaurant and Bar us a good place for dinner Blu Monkey is great little hotel

    It is useful to note that there are multiple long boats and piers to access Railay. The safest route is to the east beach from Ao Nammao pier where you can safely park a hire car for a reasonable cost. If you don’t have your own transport, there are various options such as taxis. I ripped a pair of shorts at another pier which is not a great setup.

    It was a great time - I was there for the Oceanman event so there were a lot of people around for the time and I enjoyed the atmosphere. It was jellyfish season, so it was not the best time for swimming in the ocean. But it was still a beautiful area.

    A quiet area, quite remote with no shops (that I saw) but this added to the tranquility of the area. About 50 minutes from the airport, but worth the trip. We could have eaten at other hotels but were happy with the choices at our resort.
