- From US$147.73 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 517 reviewsLovely hotel. Took us many days to figure our way around it though! Everytime you came to a junction you had to debate how to get around as the whole place seems to be surrounded by water. So you want to get to your room and unless you go through the one underpass otherwise you end up swimming to every location with your bag held over your head. Even to get to a pool you would be wading around trying to find an entry point. Also there are no beds that aren't in water. So that always made me nervous when you have your bag next to you and reading a book or kindle that could easily drop in the water. We got use to it after a week but found it a strange concept. The rooms where amazing and big with full sized fridge and the staff were fab. Lots of good restaurants near. We enjoyed our stay very much.Guest review byLouiseSpain

If you want late nights, loud music and a party life, don’t go to Kho Lak. If you want rest and relaxation, great food and no crowds this is the place. Pick your time of year and the town seems deserted.Guest review byDonAustralia - 10.0
Must visit island in thailand.
Must visit island in thailand. Must visit for atleast 4 days, serene islands, very less population, all essential and necessary things are available. Great experience. Laem Had beach during low tide, loh chak for activities, Loh pared for great sunset at the pier. Great food and seaside culinaries available at every doorstep.Guest review byArijeetIndia - 10.0

We went in May with a group of friends and found it a low key and relaxing island. Beautiful beaches and a few places to explore. I think scooter hire is a must-have to be able to get around...that was a highlight for us just cruising around the island! The hike to the 'big tree' was way harder than expected but the gorgeous secluded beach at the end made it worth it. In low season it seems like at least half the restaurants and shops are closed so you can't rely on google to tell you where to go, sometimes you just have to drive around and see what's open.Guest review byLarsNew Zealand - 10.0
Lots of things to photograph here.
Lots of things to photograph here. Street photography, landscape, seascapes, drones, portraits, temples, wildlife. The Elephant Cave was awesome, and we even arranged to photograph it with our tripods. Lots of monkeys were running around. We took our scooters about 20 minutes away to a dock and launched drones to capture beautiful river deltas. About an hour away was a nice sunset spot called Samet Nangshe.Guest review byskylerUnited States - 8.0
If you want to visit a clean beach for swimming and water...
If you want to visit a clean beach for swimming and water activities, this is not a good option. there was plastic and other rubbish every where, both on shore and in the water. The resorts locally are lovely though and still worth staying at. We stayed at Santhiya and it was wonderful. The best thing about this area is it is not overcrowded and the locals are lovelyGuest review byAngieAustralia - 10.0

Despite there being a lot of other tourists about, the area felt quiet and relaxed. Everything we needed, from restaurants, bars, beaches and cannabis dispensaries, were mere minutes away on our rented scooter with sidecar. Some of the bars did not sell spirits because it’s a more Muslim part of the country.Guest review byMonk - 8.0

Not as busy as Phuket, less people but lots of restaurants with reasonable prices. Very family orientated, no night clubs & pole dancing girly bars. Khao Lak is what Phuket was 30 years ago but is becoming more popular.Guest review byKennethAustralia - 8.0

The island is great, just do not stay at the Santiva hotel it is horrible. It looks great… but the staff is a disgrace to thai culture and thai people. The people on the island are super nice and sympathic, just great as long as you have nothing to do with Santiva resortGuest review bydhoogenkampThailand - 10.0

If you want peace and quiet and seclusion, this is the place! Be aware that you are there to relax and will be paying higher prices for items such as food an drink. It makes sense as they have to ship everything in. That being said, everything is made with care and delicious! They do have two happy hours from 5-6 and 9-10 on the beach. Lots of honeymooners! I went with my two adult sons, it was a stop in between Krabi and Phuket and it was perfect to get away from the crazy and chill. Take their boat transfer too!Guest review byPetrinaCanada - 10.0

You should visit the crazy (and a bit scary) Wat Tham Ta Pan Temple, which offers both a great cave and a super observation tower. In Somdet Phra Sinagarindra Park right in the city there are beautiful caves and wild monkeys. Phang-nga is also the best starting point for great boat trips to James Bond Island.Guest review bySven KalbhennGermany
