We were a bit afraid for some of the reviews were quite worrisome, however there is absolutely no justification for them based on our experience. To beging with we received every bit of information necessary for a safe and comfortable arrival. We were greeted in the most amazing way by the whole hotel staff, making us feel like real VIPs. The room was beautiful with atention to all the details with a beautiful bed with bug screen, closet, safety box, a small fridge with cold water, a fully stocked bathroom with a shower with a view, a balcony with sunbeds and a place to dry wet clothes, a small living room with chairs, coffee pot, etc. Of course we did find a few bugs in the room throughout our stay but this is a tropical island, made us wonder what people complaining of insects in the room were thinking when they booked a destination called "Natural Reserve". The food at the restaurants was excellent as were the drinks (try the Long Island it is to die for). Overall we had an amazing stay and we highly recommend the place. They have some rooms overlooking the sea with jacuzzi, but ours was not one of those. Try them and let us know your experience so we can book one of those next time! Staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home, the owner is also very friendly and super accommodating. Breakfast buffet is very nice and apart from the typical buffet foods you’ll find little special treats in between. Everything is made with love and makes you feel at home immediately. The food in the restaurants taste very good either for lunch or diner. The breakfast is splendid (thai and international food). To finish, the staff is perfect : always present for anything you want or need (even the nurse who receive you in her room or come see you in your room in case of problem). Stay away from the main town part if you want some quiet.
Stay away from the main town part if you want some quiet. It's over commercialized, and touristy. The resorts are overpriced for their services and amenities. However we loved Long Beach. It was a beautiful beach. If you like tea, I recommend you bring it from home. It's very hard to find good black tea in Thailand. When I stepped off the ferry, I was in absolutely awe, and immediately fell in love. It's a beautiful, small island, still packed with bars, restaurants and shops. I only stayed one night and I think 2 nights would have been enough. I did the phi phi viewpoint hike, which was killer, especially in the heat. It did get crowded for sunset, so grab your pictures before the crowd arrives. You can walk everywhere, no transport on the island as not needed. I ate at the pirate bar/restaurant, great beach view seating. I also ate at a little cafe near my accommodation, but can't remember the name......Guest review byLacyAustralia
