Tak is reallly Thailand, not a tourist haven.
Tak is reallly Thailand, not a tourist haven. The riverside is nicely developed, and there is even an incredible pedestrian suspension bridge. I only used Mae Sot as a hub to travel around to several mountain villages in the area. However, Mae Sot itself has something for everybody. The local cuisine is excellent and the people very friendly. I loved eating the readily available barbeque and the abundant locally owned coffee shops. Mae Sot is perfect place to meet nature and spend some time with local thais. People are friendly and you can buy water on pretty every corner there. It was really great experience to visit this place and definitely I would visit it again!
