Mykolaiv holds a bit more charm than meets the eye.
Mykolaiv holds a bit more charm than meets the eye. It is a gritty industrial city ravaged by war. But there are pockets of beauty and resilience in the lives carved out by its people. Life goes on. There are good restaurants and cafes and a bit of life in the down town streets. After the war it will boom, right now it is surviving. I enjoyed Mykolaiv and its people. Everything worked, people were polite and helpful. The security situation seemed no worse than other cities in southern Ukraine. There are air raid sirens once or twice per day but actual attacks - vs alerts -are probably a few per week.Guest review byDouglasSouth Africa - 8.0

The only reason to be here are the 2 nearby canyons, and historical building and man-made forest. Accommodation in Voznesensk is super helpful to avoid long drives. We went in fall so it was cold/cool and did not swim or fish.Guest review byPamelaUnited States - 10
Mykolaiv is one of my favourite cities in Ukraine.
Mykolaiv is one of my favourite cities in Ukraine. Despite the war in Ukraine, Mykolaiv lives its life. You still can find lot's of things to see and to do. There are many descent restaurants/pubs/bars around the city. Nice and welcoming city!Guest review byYana - 6.0
I was just delivering humanitarian aid and had to get out...
I was just delivering humanitarian aid and had to get out the next morning. I arrived in the evening and was glad to find accomodations after a long drive. The city water supply is not working at all. One needs bottled water to drink, shower, and use the toilet. I got lucky that there were two jugs of water provided. Fortunately, electricity and internet were working good. I also had decent parking and a code for inside the property. It is wartime there now, and I just dropped aid off the next morning and departed.Guest review byColinUnited States
