Lenox seems more crowded than mid-town Manhattan in summer, especially weekends, but the town traffic control is very good and after many short stays in the area, it remains our choice destination. Be patient, find a place to park, then walk in the village. Make dinner reservations well in advance. Drive out to one of several near-by walking places (and/or drives). Choose from the many mansions open for touring in Lenox or within driving distance (e.g., The Mount (my favorite), Ventfort Hall, Arrowhead, etc.) and art museums nearby (the Clark Art in Williamstown is amazing). Stroll in the peaceful Berkshires Botanical Garden (Stockbridge). Make a plan and then deviate at will.Guest review byMaryUnited States - 8.0

There is little to see in Williamstown itself, apart from the campus of the college, which is less architecturally pleasing than (say) Amherst. Nonetheless, it is an excellent base from which to see the Berkshires and southern Vermont.Guest review byDouglasUnited States - 4.0

I stayed in Pittsfield to visit the New Lebanon and Pittsfield Shaker villages. It was wonderful to see these historical places. Pittsfield is a bit sad as a town, a bit decayed... though they do have a theater and a concert hall.Guest review byLILIANAChile - 8.0

We stayed in Great Barrington to attend a performance at the Mahaiwe. It was leaf-peeping season, so we stayed two nights. It was a pleasure to drive around the countryside. We had breakfast both days at Marketplace Kitchen Table, right across the street from our motel. On Saturday evening we ate at The Well. The food and service are great, but there can be a wait to eat indoors.Guest review byTom HackettUnited States - 6.0

I didn't stay in Lee for anything that was in Lee, but for Lee's proximity to Stockbridge, and Lenox. Lee had nothing that I was interested in and I was only in the town when in my room ar the hotel.Guest review byWalshUnited States - 6.0

The location is perfect, but provision for amenities are very poor. Lack of information for first time none American travellers is inadequate. None existence of public transport should be made clear to foreign travellers.Guest review bykateUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Definitely glad to have visited Joe's Cafe, a local watering hole for many years. We chatted with the waitress, a few other customers, and Joe's son Frank. It's that kind of place--hot coffee, mushroom omelette for my wife, corn beef hash with eggs up for me.Guest review byCherylUnited States - 8.0

West Stockbridge did not have much, very small village, but you are a short drive to Lee, Stockbridge, Great Barrington and Lennox. There are many things to do in the area, hiking, shopping, museums, diningGuest review byEricUnited States - 10.0

A very "walkable" town that has much to offer - a good selection of restaurants and arts activities. The presence of MCLA and the many state and local parks really enhances the area's cultural and outdoor offerings. Although there a a handful of stately homes that are need of repair, this only enhances the charm of the city. Within an hour's walk, I was able to take in a good portion of the city. Highly recommend Ramunto's Brick Oven Pizza - delicious food and an easy walk from Downstreet Hotel and other points downtown.Guest review byCathleen StephenUnited States - 8.0

Stockbridge is charming, the Rockwell Museum and grounds are worth a trip. Good location to visit all of the Rte 7 Berkshires from the VT border to CT. Best food found in W.Stockbridge or Lenox and best shopping Great Barrington and The Mount, Botanical Gardens and Mt. Greylock summit were all highlights for us.Guest review bylauraUnited States
