Bellingham has a really nice safe vibe.
Bellingham has a really nice safe vibe. Family friendly, no skyscrapers, easy to get around. Lots of great restaurants, coffee houses etc.We much preferred it to the big city vibe in Seattle. I like to bike and I found a great bike shop to rent a nice bike. The Interurban trail and South Bay Trail are amazing. Fairhaven has good shops and restaurants, and a nice little library. Lynden is an old fashion community surrounded by dairy farmland not far from the Canadian border with great views of the Cascades. The whole town is very clean and neat with the historic downtown area a pleasure to see & visit. There are some excellent eateries scattered about. We are an older couple so we enjoyed the feeling of a small community that has adapted very well to accommodate population growth. We were quite pleased with Whatcom Transit bus service that took us wherever we wanted for only $1 per ride.
