Love Bar Harbor, great restaurants, galleries, love walking the shore path and out to Bar Island at low tide. Love the free Island Explorer buses into the National Park and all over Mt Desert Island. Love sea kayaking around the harbor islands. Love biking on the carriage trails in Acadia . Beautiful views of the rocky coastline and the moonrise over the Atlantic. Great and easy access into Acadia National Park.Guest review byElizabethUnited States - 10.0

This is a rare and quaint harbor village combining the offer of Maine heritage with an active fishing harbor with access to well kept trails leading in all directions around the island and home to a few unique horticultural gardens of amazing design and quiet delight.Guest review byWilliamUnited States - 10.0

This is a wonderful launching pad for beautiful nearby towns such as Blue Hill, Deer Island, Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Seal Harbor, and, of course, Acadia National Park where one can view the entire seacoast from beautiful Cadillac Mountain.Guest review byKristinUnited States - 10.0
Exceptional does not begin to describe this property.
Exceptional does not begin to describe this property. Is it a beautifully constructed and secluded cabin mirroring the owner’s memory of her childhood home on the West Coast of Ireland. Imaginatively furnished, it is the best equipped rental in which I have ever stayed. Far from the hustle and bustle but close to all of the major attractions: Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, the Schoodic National Scenic Byway, Frenchman’s Bay and so much more.Guest review byDonaldUnited States - 10.0

Bass Harbor is a wonderful place to stay and experience all the surrounding area has to offer. We biked, kayaked, and hiked during the week. Bar Harbor is an easy drive and a great place to get a book, eat out, and shop.Guest review byDebUnited States - 10.0
Bar Harbor is a comfortable tourist town, plenty of shopping...
Bar Harbor is a comfortable tourist town, plenty of shopping and dining options. It has a friendly, welcoming feel. It feels safe day or night. We enjoyed some excellent meals here! Cherrystones has a fabulous lobster BLT. Testa's has lobster tacos that were phenomenal. Galyn's Maine Combination features lobster, scallops, a delicious crab cake, broccoli, rice pilaf and a garlic aioli dipping sauce to die for. Stay away from the Indian pudding for dessert, though, it's a runny, warm, odd-tasting brown stew. Plenty of better dessert options on their menu. Don't miss the Pink Pastry Shop! They make a terrific iced latte, the Maine Mud Square is a chocolate lover's delight and the cupcakes are wonderful. Really friendly folks, too!Guest review byScottUnited States - 8.0
It was quiet compared to Bar Harbor and very peaceful.
It was quiet compared to Bar Harbor and very peaceful. There were many shops and a few restaurants. The marina was lovely. Bar Harbor and Acadia were just minutes away. I would stay in Northeast Harbor again.Guest review byMichelleUnited States - 10.0
Southwest Harbor is much quieter than Bar Harbor.
Southwest Harbor is much quieter than Bar Harbor. It is very walkable, with several restaurants and shops. It is a short drive to the Bass Harbor lighthouse and Acadia National Park. The city dock is open to the public, and you can get some good pictures of the harbor from the dock. I took my wife to the Red Sky restaurant for her birthday. It was very good.Guest review byRandalUnited States - 10.0
A charming town with a lot of eateries, cafes and shops.
A charming town with a lot of eateries, cafes and shops. It had a perfect waterfront view as well. Our favourites were the Choco-Latte Cafe where they have an amazing Maine Maple Oat coffee and yummy food and Frenchman Bay Lobster Rolls, for one of the best lobster rolls. Side Street Cafe had the best blueberry pie we ever had! Must visits!Guest review byKetakiIndia - 8.0
