Nantucket is very clean, very old, very well maintained.
Nantucket is very clean, very old, very well maintained. It is also very expensive. I liked the Straight Wharf Fish the best because I could get more "authentic" (read "simpler") food rather than the very elaborate cuisine from other cultures.Guest review bySuzanneUnited States - 6.0
Overpriced islet for seeing and being seen.
Overpriced islet for seeing and being seen. Everything is extremely expensive. Restaurants charge a lot for average food. Hotels are very old, though clean. Some people think it is charming. It think it is boring. There are better beaches on Cape Cod and everything there is cheaper. People are over/under dressed. They wear designer clothes for the date, even if the weather is too cold for that sun dress. Women wearing high heels on cobble stones. If you like window shopping and paying Manhattan prices for everything and want to wear ridiculous jewelry on the street because you don’t have anywhere else to wear it, this is the place for you. I’m jaded because I’ve been here so many times. If you are fishing out to sea from here, it is a good place to keep your sport fishing boat. If you need a place to sail to, well, the launch is $65 RT for a couple. That’s extremely high. Martha’s Vineyard is a lot cheaper as is Chatham.Guest review byIsobelUnited States - 10.0
The architecture. The cobblestone streets and trees.
The architecture. The cobblestone streets and trees. Downtown has great shops, restaurants, The Library! I loved the Harbor, The Wave Bus and the 2 beaches I visited, Sconset and Jetties. The people! So friendly and interesting. It's a quick plane ride from NYC to a little slice of heaven.Guest review byReedy
