Been to quite a few places. Absolutely hated it there. The streets where people could park in the street right next to where u park your car. And then you had to wait till they came back and moved . If your going to have a restaurant and it is inside another building. They need to mention that on the Google app. So people can find it. We where going to spend another night and do more things. But after we left the restaurant we googled something else. It never took us to where we wanted to go. We went back to the hotel and got are things and left Cleveland. I would not go out anywhere in the downtown area after dark. I just didn't feel safe, even just sitting at a stoplight. I did stay in the downtown area and will NOT stay there again! We were assigned a room on third floor.
We were assigned a room on third floor. The elevator was not working. We requested a room on first floor so we could not have to climb the stairs. The clerk resisted our move. We asked again for a first floor room. The clerk offered to take our luggage up to our room. We accepted that until the clerk said oh he wouldn’t be here in the morningand didn’t know if he could bring it back down for us. We again asked for a first floor room and was granted a room. The room was not ready for occupancy. There was an ironing board. And didn’t know if he could bring it back down for us. We again asked for a first floor room and was granted a room. The room was not ready for occupancy. There was an ironing board open in the entry to the hallway to the bathroom. I folded it up and put it away. Two of the lamps were missing lightbulbs. We had to search for outlets that worked. The center of the room was clean on the floor, but the edges was dirty, including spiderwebs. After I got ready for bed, I wanted to wash my hands but lo and behold no soap. I attempted to call the front desk. I got a answering machine and then it cut off before I got a person. I tried this three times before I chose another solution. I got dressed again and went to the clerks station and asked for soap. Someone else was there asking for soap so apparently this was their pattern. I do not think we received a clean room and the cost was greater than they value. Less than a one hour drive to the Ark Encounter, Creation Museum, and downtown Cincinnati. There was alot of traffic however. The location of the Double Tree by Hilton was convenient, however if you are looking to stay near Sharonville, KEEP LOOKING! Traveling for work, my stay was short. so not much exploring the area. When making your plans to stay in or near the area, DON'T include Double Tree by Hilton as a possible choice. Port Clinton is the kind of Lake Town you are hoping for with a young family. The atmosphere was relaxed, and people were friendly. There is a great playground for the kids near City Beach and plenty of restaurants to choose from. City layout isn't very complicated and most if not everything to do in the town is always just 5-10 minutes from everything else. Lake Erie is a great body of water and pretty clean to boot. We went the weekend before Labor Day and there were a couple of nights where live music was being played during a pub-crawl sort of deal. Dublin is a lovely suburb of Columbus. We enjoyed walking around the Old Dublin area, and ate an excellent Italian restaurant called Mezzo. In addition to their regular menu, Mezzo offers an entire vegan menu! Our favorite spot is the short hiking trail that leads to Indian Run Falls.
