- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 1,594 reviewsFantastic location! Right on the main street, in front of and next to great places to eat, whether it's dinner, breakfast or a snack, the motel doesn't have breakfast, but you turn the corner and there's the Alabama Hills Café with several great breakfast options. The bathroom even has a very modern hygienic shower, the first time I've seen that in countless trips to the USA!!! The room isn't big, but it's cozy, comfortable and clean. A wonderful shower that provides a fantastic bath! I wanted to spend the rest of my trip in Lone Pine just to stay at this motel!!! Honestly, it's a better option than any chain hotel in this city! You'll be happy!Guest review byRicardoBrazil

It has salon with a fully equipped kitchen and two bad rooms, one of them we are not used. The location was perfect, between Fossil Dry falls and Mount Whitney. The pool with clean and cold water was perfect.Guest review byOlegIsrael

This is my first review, but I feel compelled to warn other travelers. The place is completely overpriced with poorly maintained facilities. The room was dirty, with cobwebs everywhere. Worst of all was the noise: the air conditioning and the fridge were unbearable, and I had to turn the AC off just to get some rest. The staff was not welcoming at all. To make things even worse, we found a surprise “amenity fee” added to the bill, which had never been mentioned in the booking details and about which no one informed us. We tried to ask by email and phone why this fee was applied, but never received an answer. Not only that, but they even hung up on us without any explanation and then disconnected the line. Overall, it was a terrible experience for the whole family.Guest review bydiegoSpain - 10.0

There's a McDonald's which is always good for feeding children at a reasonable price. There's a good Mexican restaurant in town with a very friendly waitress. The motion picture museum is well done. The Alabama hills are very interesting along with Mt Whitney.Guest review byunclexeres - 10.0

I love being in Porterville, going by Murry Park, Zalud Park, the skatepark for the kids and Giovannies Pizzeria and Arcade, not to mention it has a good amount of shopping outlets for a fairly small town!! And even amid construction in streets, it is always easy to traverse around town!Guest review byLandrum - 8.0

Not much to do in Lindsay, but it is close to the Sierra Nevada Mountains (Sequoia). We had a pretty good pizza at Tony's Pizza in Lindsay. My grandmother lived 50 years in Lindsay; my father was raised there, and I spent much time visiting in my youth. It was fun driving around and seeing my old haunts and seeing so much change since 50's, 60's, and 70's. The City Hall in Lindsay has been kept in pristine condition, a welcome reminder of this city in its heyday.Guest review byNormanUnited States - 10.0

Have patience… Everyone’s ordering at the same time so plan ahead. The beauty of the natural surroundings is incredible.Guest review byCarlUnited States - 10.0
We loved taking the tram from the Giant Forest Museum.
We loved taking the tram from the Giant Forest Museum. It takes you all over. We hiked up Moro Rock for a beautiful view (avoid if scared of heights) and hiked to see Thorpe's Log. Then, we visited General Sherman (largest tree in the world). It was gorgeous weather when we went. The more hiking you do, the less people you'll see. So, we loved the hikes.Guest review byJoanna - 10.0

Very well-equipped house with very friendly host in a very quiet but remote region. Need to drive thru' very winding country roads but scenery along the way is great. Need to prepare food, as nearest grocery store and restaurant are at least one hour drive away.Guest review byNaoraiSingapore - 10.0

Before our stay at the home, we visited Sequoua National Park and enjoyed the General Sherman sequoia tree, council hike and Hospital Rock. From there we drove to the property past the vast reservoir and through charming tiny towns. The winding road provided majestic views of the Sierra Nevadas as we passed by cattle farms and braked for colorful roosters, grouse and deer.Guest review byJamesUnited States - 4.0

Booked to stay in Independence as we wanted to visit Manzanar on our way south. But we wished we had gone further south to Lone Pine and then doubled back north in the morning as there was much more choice of accommodation in Lone Pine. Manzanar is worth visiting as is the Film Museum in Lone Pine.Guest review bymandk88United Kingdom
