Beautiful, historic buildings with a ton of history to explore. Staying near the River Walk is optimal since we walked from there to many destinations. We loved the light show at the San Fernando Church, La Gloria restaurant in the Pearl District, and Leche del Tigre in Southtown. Market Square reminded us of markets in Mexico and Peru and La Villita also had lots of interesting small stores. Austin is a weird city.
Austin is a weird city. Lots to see and do and that makes it worth the trip, but not my kind of place. Too much traffic, cars and people on bikes, scooters and walking. Parking is a big problem and valet is costly. So happy to return to my quiet country life.Guest review byKarenUnited States - 10.0

Fort Worth is the BEST city in Texas.
Fort Worth is the BEST city in Texas. They have some of the best restaurants (Bricks and Horses at the Bowie House), fab western stores, incredible BBQ spots (Terry Black's BBQ) and best of all, The Fort Worth Stockyards (all the western shops there are fab!). It is a really easy city to navigate and there is always plenty of parking and cool places to explore. There's always something fun to do and you're right in the center of it all. My favorite aspect of Galveston is the history. I loved looking at the architecture of old houses and buildings and learning about the building and rebuilding after the 1900 hurricane. We walked a lot through neighborhoods just to look at houses and a variety of beautiful plants. Our trip to Arlington was the first one for us and we enjoyed it tremendously. The visit was to celebrate family day with our granddaughter at the AT&T Field. It was a wonderful experience and one we hope to have for many more years to come. We shopped at the Cowboys Pro Shop, Lulu Lemon, and several other shops along the mall area. We had Brunch @ Lili's, supper at the Lazy Dog, got ice cream at the Cow Tipping Creamery, and barbecue at Hutchins Barbecue. Our final day there we had breakfast at Denny's. Loved El Paso when we lived there thirty years and still like it very much, especially the food. We haven't had Tex-Mex like El Paso Tex-Mex since we left in 1995.
