Sullivan County is a fascinating mix of natural beauty and diverse cultures. Monticello is a good jumping-off spot for experiencing the different parts of the overall county. Nearby counties such as Orange and Ulster also have a lot to offer.Guest review byLindaUnited States - 10.0

The room was very clean. The employees were helpful and courteous. All was excellent. We received list of restaurants nearby. We are at Mariner’s Cove and enjoyed our meals and great service. Getting around Kingston was easy and delightful!Guest review byEvelyn - 8.0

new paltz is a great little town, nice bike routes. this motel was quite bare bones, located right on the highway, a little tricky to access, but definitely pleasant and does what it sets out to do- budget accomodations, no frills, very adequate.Guest review bySlowtravelsblogIsrael - 8.0
I booked using an app.
I booked using an app. It was easy and I got the room as described. We needed a dog-friendly place and this was one of 2 in the area. In fact their green space was big and good for the dog to sniff out rabbits, but none were sighted. The property was clean and room comfortable. The front desk agent recommended the restaurant across the street and the meal there was decent. The breakfast was pretty much what is offered everywhere else, but we just have coffee from the dining room, and do not use the coffee system in the room, which had a refrigerator and a microwave.Guest review byTedUnited States - 10.0

Catskill is a town, which we didn't visit this time, but it is also the Mountains. We used to live in the area for the summers from 1985 - 95, so we know it well. We visited the site of the old Catskill Mountain House, and also the Kaaterskill Falls Observation deck, which was wonderful on this beutiful spring day. Also visited the Storm King Art Center on the way up, which was also wonderful.Guest review byMichaelUnited States - 6.0
Cozy & friendly town with everything you need nearby.
Cozy & friendly town with everything you need nearby. There’s even a lovely wine & spirits store down the way. The winery is only open on weekends and with late hours- not conducive to Friday 11AM checkout times. Also, beware of the 55 MPH maximum speed limit with frequent speed traps & State Troopers fishing for tourists to ticket. They ask you a TON of questions (where you’re staying, where you’re headed, etc.) & then ticket you. That part is rather unpleasant.Guest review byBrown - 4.0
Mountain view and clean room.
Mountain view and clean room. Did not like the male manager. Did not like the breakfast. Cereal was not in a sealed container so it was soggy and steal. You served bagels and toaster did not work enough to even melt the hard butter. Had boiled eggs was the only choice. Biker chapter set up a tent on the mountain view side and was very loud and no one else could enjoy the back patio. The 13 to 14 bikers parked under the awning all day and night so that you couldn't park to unload or even walk up the front steps. We had to go around to the handicap walkway.Guest review byJean - 8.0

Quaint, quiet and desolate; however, beautiful mountain views. It is a good place for relaxation if you are not looking to do much. We ventured to the Crystal Run mall in Middleton which is about 24-30mins(drive). At the Catskills Resort Casino, we ate at Lotus Restaurant; we tried to eat at The Diner, but the initial service was blah to terrible. We really did not enjoy our experience as much as we hoped for. My expensive bracelet went missing. We did not get one drink on the casino floor the entire day and a half we were there, even when the service buttons were pressed. One of the worst casino experiences we have had (and we visit a lot of casinos across the nation), but willing to give it one more try in the future. You are still encouraged to visit and try your own luck as it may be different depending on who you are (wink wink).Guest review byAnonymousUnited States
