Beautiful rooms and a very private, exclusive lodge. It felt like something from Hemmingway, with fireplaces for cooler evenings, but white tablecloths and excellent food/wines. The game drives were excellent and our guide was very knowledgeable. We saw a family of cheetahs chase and kill a deer, which was a highlight of the trip. One day it rained and the elephants (15 or so) came out to play and bathe in the pond below the lodge. Fantastic!

Convenient location – easy walk to downtown and the university, but in a quiet and beautiful area away from heavy traffic and city noise. All the staff were friendly, gracious, and efficient and went above and beyond to help. The room was cleaned exceedingly well every day and all necessary provisions (plus a few extras) were refreshed daily. The apples were delicious. There were surprisingly many pillows. Even my fairly small room had cooking facilities and a refrigerator, all of which helped me a lot.

The staff are the most friendly and thoughtful. They even packed me food for the road when leaving as I have a long way to get to my destination. The ranger - Thomas is the most experienced, he’s excellent at explaining, finding the animals you requested to see etc. facility is very nicely renovated and worth staying!

A truly remarkable African safari experience. The staff were just incredible, warm and welcoming. So many special touches and extra effort into making a birthday celebration the best and most memorable experience possible. Delicious food, great South African wine and the best of the bush. Great game viewing! Highly recommend to anyone looking for something extraordinary!

The historical aspects were fascinating, especially the old Churches and cathedrals. These are largely untouched from the general significant decline in basic services. We were only there for a sporting event. Not sure it is a place we would consider a holiday destination.

The staff, guides, game drives, units and meals were all superior. Just make sure your unit is secured when you go away, as we left a window open and the poor staff had their hands full cleaning up as the monkeys managed to get in and had a huge party with my grand-daughter's glitter paint!

Grahamstown has amazing old buildings and history. BUT the roads are a disaster !! Giant potholes everywhere and some of the roads you have to actually look for the tar that is left. The municipality should be ashamed. African road between 3 biggest private schools is abysmal
