- From US$2,265.38 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 10.0Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 35 reviewsSimply great. Great location in many senses - the reserve itself (only 1 hour from the airport PLZ), the location of the manor in the reserve and of course the reserve as a biodiverse paradise. Food - great - suprisingly great we have to say. The Manor is spacious, our room was much larger than expected. It had a terrace facing the open reserve where you could see animals from a distance after a shower or having a coffee. The buildings have a modern country style touch, are very welcoming, open and invite to relax. There is "the usual" 5-star stuff to do, if you are not on a game drive (pool, spa, gym, etc). Which is great if you have a partner or you are in a group with people that are not into game drives as much - they will have a proper 5-star hotel experience and be able to relax anyway. - This is a main difference to camps with tents and less luxurious equipment. Staff is very friendly - nice concept of the ranger having breakfast with you afterwards so you can reflect upon what you have seen. Children - there is another camp in the reserve that is especially family friendly - I forgot the name - ask the reserve, they will tell you.Guest review byClemensUnited Arab Emirates
- From US$1,815.86 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 25 reviewsLalibela experience was something real and unique! It doesn’t matter how frequently you are traveling - you will be pleasantly surprised by sincere hospitality of the team (starting from the smooth and prompt booking process till the best service on the spot), deep and outstanding knowledge of the rangers (special thanks to Nikita and Ashley - your love to your work and nature helps me to believe in humanity) and, last but not least, the scale of the territory where you will find trilling encounter with wild, beautiful animals and with strong, breathtaking nature (we were happy to spend the days far away from noise, traffic, density of the city - full recharge). The Lounge itself (we booked “Kichaka”) is impressive, here you will find everything that is needed for comfortable stay (beautiful luxury design, super wide terrace, pool, private pool with water heating system, 2 real fireplaces that you can enjoy after an evening safari or when it rains, bar, beautiful local wine, wide menu for all courses of the meal etc.). All of this was already included in the price of booking. To leave this place was a real hart braking moment. Thank you!Guest review byAleksandraItaly
- From US$344.46 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 304 reviewsSo many things to mention. The position is amazing, so convenient if you want to go out for game drives — it's literally into the wild. Also, the tent is a wonderful choice if you want to enjoy the nature all around. Plus, every venue of the lodge is just spotless. So clean. I appreciated the amenities provided inside my tent — nothing less than what you can find in a "normal" hotel room. The quality and the value for money of the activities proposed is outstanding. Giraffes' walk highly recommended, you really can't miss it. I had the chance to have breakfast and dinner in the lodge. They had several options both for my girlfriend (salty breakfast) and for me (I'm more for a sweet one). The dinner outdoor, always excellent, comes with a breathtaking panoramic view at the sunset. Last, but not least, the kindness of staff and rangers. All of them are just lovely. I spent 3 nights, but I would have enjoyed staying more and more.Guest review byDanieleItaly
- From US$658.83 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.8Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 160 reviewsA picture perfect camp on a fantastic game reserve. The camp was exactly as sold which is exactly what we wanted - rustic but homely and comfortable. You get multiple chances for drinks (alcoholic and non) and 3 meals a day which are very tasty. From start to finish we were made to feel welcome by the whole team who clearly love their jobs and are very passionate about conservation and all things nature. Our guides Lungi and Yohan were both incredibly knowledgable and friendly. Riaan’s bush walk was a particular highlight - what this man doesn’t know, isn’t worth knowing! We have all done safari before in different parts of Africa but all agreed this was the best experience we’ve ever had and will definitely look at coming back in the future.Guest review byJamesUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.9Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 112 reviewsUnreal experience! HillsNek will make you feel in the heart of nature while offering you the best service and luxurious feeling. Having only 4 lodges, the whole experience felt very personal and private while at the same time enjoying the feeling of community with the other guests during game drives and meals. Our ranger Tim did his best to show us everything we wanted to see and more while making us feel safe and sharing great stories. Renzo and the staff made sure to be ahead of every of our needs. We even had the elephants coming to drink in the pool twice during our stay - it's not just great marketing ;)Guest review byThibaultNetherlands
- From US$1,474.96 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 306 reviewsThanks to the whole team! James, thank you for these unforgettable morning and afternoon rides. You immediately felt that he was a very experienced and funny ranger! Keep it up! We were able to see four of the big five. The lodge is very luxurious. Please remember that you live in the "bush" and you can sometimes encounter insects and other creatures while showering under the open sky. :-) But that's exactly what makes it so special! Many thanks to all the staff at Bush Lodge for this wonderful time. Hope to see you again soon Daniel&SissyGuest review byDanielGermany
- From US$1,334.94 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 318 reviewsMy husband and I had a fantastic stay at the Safari Lodge. Our 3-nights booking included 4 game drives at Amakhala and a daytrip to Addo elephant park - we managed go see all the animals in our bucket list including lion, cheetah, giraffe, elephant, zebra, rhino, buffalo and many more. Our ranger Bradley was very knowledgeable and talented in finding the animals, we couldn't have asked for more! The food was tasty and often served as a la carte which we really enjoyed. The service was impeccable and the rooms very comfortable.Guest review byMyyFinland
- From US$797.53 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 101 reviewsArriving at Leeuwenbosch is like stepping back to a time of gracious living. The house was built in 1908 and has large rooms tastefully decorated and full of antiques and family portraits. Frint of house Kerry welcomed us and gave a guided tour of the property. Her husband Steve was also on hand to make sure we were comfortable. Our guide Ouboet was exceptionally knowledgeable, not only in fauna and flora, but also in the area’s history. All the staff were smiling and courteous.Guest review byAnneSouth Africa

The staff at Amakhala were very friendly and helpful.
The staff at Amakhala were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. the room was large and when you came back after the second safari they had turned the lights on. folded down the beds and put the heating on. That is a really great touch from the staff. The Park Rangers were very good. We had Jessie and he was very informative and had a great sense of humour. He really did his best to find the animals we all wanted to see and made it a special experience.Guest review byHuwUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We did an afternoon Giraffe walk through Bellevue Lodge and it was amazing - we were taken on a safari vehicle onto a game reserve and from there had to find the grazing giraffe. Once we spotted them, we drove close by and then got out of the vehicle to walk close (but not too close) to the giraffe to watch them eat their dinner. It was a lovely experience, and our guide Stephen was knowledgeable and friendly, answering all our questions. We stayed at the Bellevue Lodge for 1 night, it was a lovely small property with friendly staff.Guest review bySusanSwitzerland - 10.0
Old style of buildings but in the based in the nature.
Old style of buildings but in the based in the nature. Super bedroom and in the morning all kind of animals where in front of your room. Also the Akmala Game reserve tour is highly recommendable because we saw so many wild animals (lions, rhino's, cheetahs, secretary bird,...) The dinner in the lodge was superb.Guest review byBENNYSlovenia - 10.0

This was a new listing , and we were the first guests, LUCKY US!! The facilities offered are too many to mention. An updated kitchen with everything that opens and closes and more. Filter water on tap, a wine fridge, every spice that you can imagine. If you have forgotten anything at home, no stress they have it. A beautiful, clean, large family home. The beds are comfortable, shower pressure is great, wifi, dstv and views from every bedroom. Our host Larraine was wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. This gem is a true home from homeGuest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Amakhala Game Reserve is a haven for wild animals and a brilliant place for a safari. Many of the animals used to roam the land 100 years ago before the land was used for farming. In the early 2000's the land was returned to its natural habitat and the animals reintroduced, with the aim of conservation and breeding of endangered species. As it is in a malaria-free area, it is the perfect location for a safari for people who get bitten by mozzies! There were only a few jeeps out on drives at any time, so you rarely come across other people. There are several lodges in the reserve to choose as your base (we stayed at Safari Lodge, which was brilliant).Guest review byGaryUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The whole experience was amazing.
The whole experience was amazing. Difficult to put into words. Spectacular views from the lodge, very knowledgeable and professional rangers, great food, extremely friendly atmosphere, very thoughtful touches (like running a bubble bath on return from game drive), wonderful decor.Guest review byMuttlichUnited Kingdom
