The general degradation of SA coastal towns is evident and is costing the economy hundreds of millions as tourists are put off by high crime rates, poor service in some shops and municipal lethargy. Water restrictions are in place due to poor planning by unqualified municipal executives. Municipalities need to raise standards by hiring people who can prove their effectiveness and have qualifications and/or experience with testimonials. MacArthur pool was empty. Indifference seems to be the order of the day. Makro is a great store to visit. Addo game park is also recommended. Cape Recife is a great drive. The weather was warm and traffic flowed well.Guest review byBridgetSouth Africa - 10.0

This quaint little town has so much to offer. The access to the forests with its fantastic hikes, loads of other activities and a couple of great restaurants. Marilyn's diner is a must visit if you are ever in this town. The team at the Treetop canopy tours are amazing.Guest review byNico WieseSouth Africa - 10.0

Lots of great places to eat out, try a delicious pizza at Pili Pili Beachfront restaurant for example, just pack a blanket if its cold out, as its set up on a type of veranda, they do have outdoor heaters though. The beaches are lovely. Perfect surfing area with options for beginner surfers to advanced. Surfing with the dolphins was a huge highlight for my teenagers. There is a skateboard park. Lots of great factory shops of various brands in the surf village. Addo Elephant park is not very far away, so also worth doing a drive through.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

We have been to Addo probably 40 times and just never get enough of it, and once again on rare occassions, saw a lioness up close. As always there were plenty of Buffalo, Elephant, Zebra, Red Hardebeest, Warthog, Kudu, and oh! a Hyena!Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 4.0
This is a prime example of how Africa is doomed.
This is a prime example of how Africa is doomed. You can still see how beautiful that city was before the ANC took over and all of that beauty and the lifetimes of effort that went into creating it lies in wasted ruins.Guest review byRossSouth Africa - 8.0

The town has a long history and it is very well worthwhile exploring the sights in town as well as the nature reserves nearby. The Valley of Desolation is amazing. Plenty of good places to eat in town. On Sundays the town is very quiet.Guest review byNOELSouth Africa - 10.0

I liked the cleanliness of the room and the friendly staff.
I liked the cleanliness of the room and the friendly staff. I wish you can improve on your breakfast, put more effort on it and also use nice tasty sausage. I couldn’t use the phone in the room to make phone calls to the reception so I had to use mine which was not fair. The food at the restaurant was delicious and I didn’t even have to go out. The service was excellent at the Wellness and beauty Spa.Guest review byNokulungaSouth Africa
