- From US$212 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 310 reviewsLoved the big sparkly pool, loved the large Veranda and decor. The outside Bar was a bonus as we were served drinks from our sun-loungers. Eating breakfast out here was also divine. It gives you a Resort type feel. The bedrooms are extra spacious and tastefully decorated with solid / quality furniture. You feel like royalty staying at this premise. Especially the staff (Superman) make you feel like a million dollars with their exceptional service! Highly recommend this place and will most certainly return.Guest review byAlexandraSouth Africa
- From US$57.70 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 108 reviewsAn family-run old traditional house, apparently which was an old library and tobacco store, converted into a 'farm house'. Wooden floors and super high ceilings. The garden was beautiful full of flowers. A swimming pool for the kids to swim. And the Wilgewandel public farm was truly amazing! The kids had the best time on the lake and the water slides were an amazing! And a peacock walking around the restaurant! Amazing. And the staff were so helpful and friendly. Very thankful for the wonderful service!Guest review byClaireBahrain
- From US$84.25 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 410 reviewsThis is a beautiful place, nicely remote from the real world! The food was excellent - great quality, taste and value. Excellent service from all we encountered. We’d recommend visitors go on the nature drive… so much to learn about the beautiful Karoo. Great to be escorted by such an enthusiastic guide! Another highlight was the pool - in such beautiful surrounds, and made even more magical by the evening visit of the zebra and various bucks to graze. We’d love to return!Guest review byClaireUnited Kingdom
- From US$106.75 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 299 reviewsWe were looking for a quiet place to stay, away from the hustle and bustle of the coastal resorts. And we found it! The location is magnificent, and the tents are actually situated in the trees of a splendid forest. Although not too high up (which might reassure some guests), the site benefits from being on the edge of a ravine, so we were really staying on a balcony in the forest.Guest review byLaurentSwitzerland
- From US$86.56 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 784 reviewsEverything, the receptionist is very welcoming. They take you personally to your room, I found that very welcoming. The room is more than what I expected based on the pictures. Breakfast was too delicious and they have a variety of food to accommodate every dietary preference.Guest review byNonhlanhlaSouth Africa

I’ve been in other reserves and this one has the best game drive. All drinks are included, lots of food, not only breakfast, lunch and dinner but also snacks in or before the game drive.Guest review byFelippeBrazil

Lovely quiet country village. Interesting little shops & great 2nd hand bookshop. Great walks/hikes & excellent restaurants (highly recommend "Mud"). Lots of interesting history.Guest review byAllisonSouth Africa - 6.0

On arrival, we were greeted by overflowing sewers pouring out into the main road. Smelt so bad, we could not go near the liquor store near the main road. Apart from that issue, the rest of the town was great.Guest review byDouglasSouth Africa - 10.0

We should have called the farm manager from Barrydale, because when we arrived at the locked farm gate, we found there was no reception. We couldn't reach him, and it was soon getting dark, so we had to keep driving until we got signal again, which only took five minutes. Wann, the manager, was soon there and opened the gate to paradise for us... remote, behind two other farms, we were able to spend comfortable days in this Karoo resort. Wann was always available, and one evening his wife cooked us a delicious meal. A river, a hot tub, an ice bath, peace and quiet, and an endless sky—what more could you want? This is the place to be for anyone needing a break. For more romance, under the stars, bring candles and reading lamps.Guest review byIsabellaSouth Africa - 10.0

Uniondale was the centre point of our journey distance wise - so convenient . Also we had not been there before so it made an interesting stop over. Scenery was stunning and the road excellent. Hotel built in 1832 (I understand). Uniondale is about 14 kms off main road and entry and exit are through two mountain passes which were most attractive.Guest review byChristopherSouth Africa - 8.0

From the main road it looks like just another dusty deserted Karoo town. What a pleasant surprise on turning off into the little town. We had a superb breakfast at @Stuff and met some interesting locals. The town is experiencing a resurgence and is intersting, well maintained and spotlessly clean.Guest review byRobynSouth Africa - 10.0

we have been to Oudtshoorn several times over a number of years. The attractions are mainly the same but still worth a visit - however interesting to see how much the town has grown and evolved. The drive through the Swartberg Mountains is NOT to be missed. The primary reason we took this trip.Guest review bySumayaSouth Africa - 10.0

Route 62 is a great drive and Barrydale is a convenient distance from Cape Town for a stop, The village is small but has interesting places to visit. Arrive in time to look round and leave the next by lunchtime the next day - that's all the time you need but it's worth taking time to stop and look round. We found it a friendly place and were not pestered by beggars.Guest review byAnonymous
