- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 75 reviewsWe chose The Outpost Lodge for an impromptu 30th anniversary getaway. We have always wanted to visit the northernmost part of the Kruger to see how it compares to the rest of the park. The Outpost is situated on a hill overlooking the Luvuvhu River and the view from our room was breath-taking. The contemporary open plan rooms have retractable remote-controlled blinds, that offer uninterrupted views of the river when open. It was indeed a once-in-a-lifetime experience to sleep with no walls between you and the wilderness. On the second night, we were treated to elephants trumpeting just outside our room! The lodge is situated in a private concession. The staff mainly consists of members of the Makuleke tribe. We were treated like royalty and no effort was spared to make our stay a memorable one. It is evident that the staff are extremely well trained, but also that they love what they do. Our room was immaculately clean, the food was 5-star and wherever we went, we were greeted with friendly smiles. The fauna, flora and vistas in this part of the Kruger is by far the most impressive of the whole park. We were fortunate enough to visit both the Lanner Gorge and the Fever Forest on game drives. This is not the area of the Kruger you should go to if you want to see the big five, as you probably won’t, but that said, there is still a decent amount of wildlife to see. We saw elephant, zebra, nyala, impala, baboons, kudu and hippo.Guest review byhpelzerSouth Africa
- From $3,517.87 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.8Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 30 reviewsThis property is incredible! The rooms were stunning and so large. I had no idea how amazing the safari rides would be- Justice and Elvis did such an amazing job at making us feel safe and finding/getting up close to the big 5. The service is impeccable- Tinyiko our server was so kind and we felt so cared for. I wasn’t expecting much for the food- due to it being all inclusive- but it was absolutely amazing quality, ingredients and preparation.Guest review byBrianUnited States

Nelspruit is a well run city, s gateway for anyone passing through to Maputo-mozambique, Limpopo, the Kruger Park. The one bad thing about the place is lack of taxi services like Bolt or Uber locally. One has to do with the local minibus taxis which do not always service some areas and operate at set hours. There are some operators but charge speculative fares due to the absence of app based taxis. I'm told this is due to minibus taxi operators blocking their activities. An example is going to/fro the airport which is problematic, or going to Maputo. There are few options.Guest review byZolaSouth Africa - 10.0

Hazyview is a very convenient town en route to the Kruger National Park and other attractions on the Panorama Route. It has all the major supermarkets as well as some great restaurants for a meal. There is plenty of accommodation in and around the town, for a single night to a longer period. Love visiting hereGuest review byManeshSouth Africa - 8.0

I did not stay at Hoedspruit - just used the airport for transfer to camps. The airport is very small and hot - no fans or air conditioning - but efficient and the staff is friendly. No problems. Very small shop. No cafeteria or restaurant.Guest review byNoorSherniNorway - 10.0

The trip was with wonderful the place looked exactly as the pictures, the place is clean and fully equipped in terms of cutlery and that made everything about the stay awesome. The animals coming to visit anytime was also a 100%.Guest review byNoniSouth Africa - 8.0

Nature is beautiful. Everything about Graskop is natural like God's Window, different waterfalls and so on. I had a great weekend and we couldn't visit all the beautiful places because of time.Guest review byPinkySouth Africa - 8.0

Not too far from the N4. About an hours drive to most attractions, like the Kruger, Lone Creek Falls, Lisbon Falls and God's Window. Graskop Gorge is also on the way to Blyde River Canyon. The scenery while driving makes the drive worth it.Guest review byJodee - 10.0

A nice place to be. Not enough for a short stay. There is so much to do and see if you visit a place a few days. The Kruger Park is within reach. The eateries are relatively a few km away. Rural but very nice experience for an urban person.Guest review byAbbeySouth Africa - 2.0
Phalaborwa as a town was a deep disappointment.
Phalaborwa as a town was a deep disappointment. The roads are in a very bad state and the general condition of the streets, pavements and rubbish lying around is a disgrace for the municipality. There are no streetlights working and the overall deterioration of the town is the last thing one wants to show overseas visitors. The tar road leading to the Kruger gate is obviously in a good condition but that is all. The Pick and Pay and the Spur are closed due to a fire incident and there are not a lot of restaurants to go to dinner for.Guest review byKarinSouth Africa - 6.0

It was great to see all the sights around the area such as Bourkes Potholes, Mac Mac Falls, Graskop & Gods Window which we hadn’t seen for over 30 years. However I wouldn’t stay in Sabie again & would have preferred a farm or country house to stay at.Guest review byRoySouth Africa
