The hostel is fine. It could be a bit cleaner and the showers could work a little better. You can get a hotel room for not much more so it would be better if the price was fairer.

The sheets and the towel were old (but clean), one shower (near the 8 bedroom) had a very hard knob. Also my bed was a bit hard for me, in any case I don't expect to have a good sleep in an hostel so it was ok.

The location is great, you are in the center of Bologna and you can reach easily points of interest. It was overall clean, but maybe there are few bathrooms for that many people.

Reception hours and staff responses (BEFORE things were settled) My flight would arrive a bit late, but not terribly late, at around 8:30 in the evening. Right after booking, the hostel tells me that their reception shuts at seven. Pretty early… I booked for three nights, and if I could not make it within reception hours, the whole booking and money would be lost. It would seem like no problem because Booking.com has this ‘wave fee’ function that can make the property cancel your reservation for free. But they didn’t. They said I should have read their reception policies and offered to refund me half of the money but cancel the booking. Really, if your reception closes at seven, it is a red letter thing, and it should be the actual name of your hostel. ‘Hostel 7 PM lockout’ or something. In the end, it took me calls and messages to Booking.com. They intervened to get the property to modify the booking to two nights instead of three. Once I was actually there personally, the staff was pleasant. This place is no boutique hostel at all. It offers the bare minimum in decor, facilities and ambience. Each of the three bathrooms has its own shortcomings and it seems it should’ve been fixed months or years ago. I am sure they know this but it is just not enough to make serious complaints about so it doesn’t get fixed.

It’s very basic, but clean and functional, for that price in the center one should not have other expectations. The key to my room is just an ordinary key that opens any other room (nothing happened though, none entered my room). I stayed 2 nights, but the room does not get cleaned (bed or garbage). I’m ok with that, just so you know. It would have been good with a food/coffee automated machine, but there are bars and grocery stores nearby

Location, cleanliness, even vacuumed my baggage upon arrival. Very quiet room. Staff was there on time as agreed and very polite. I read very bad reviews but decided to come here anyhow. My room was a normal single room (with walls and doors) It’s an old palace in a very old town, but windows and doors are new and so the floors and so on. Just electrical sockets are not near the bed, so bring longer charging cables for your devices. There are lockers to rent nearby (2 min walk) to leave the luggage

There’s literally nothing there, no common area with anything, no opportunity to sit and chat to people, extremely silent in there so you feel you can barely make any noise

It's not sound-proof at all. The receptionist lady doesn't speak english. But she used translator to tell us.

Common area is very big. Even the room is spacious. And I met lovely people here.

Showers had bad water pressure/low temperature. It was a hostel, so how nice your room stay is very contingent on your roommates.

The beds were not very good and also the equipment can be improved or renovated. For the cost it was okay (traveling end of April). Also, it has only three bathrooms so for a long stay I do not know if it is enough.

It is a very central place. I was an alone traveller so I had a room with three other people. It was spacious and clean. No need for bus, cabs or anything. Not too expensive.

At first the lady at the reception was very kind, even though she didn't speak English she tried to be extremely helpful. I wanted to turn on the air conditioner because it was very cold, but he said "it is a central system and it will turn on the air conditioner itself." And so I went out for a walk. When I arrived in the evening, the room was freezing and I was very cold. I called the lady but I could not reach her in any way. The air conditioner definitely did not work. 😣 I thought about making tea to warm up, but there isn't even a kettle! Everywhere was clean and tidy, but I tried to sleep like a mummy in the freezing cold room, wearing whatever I had on until the morning. I woke up at eight in the morning to a huge renovation noise. In our country, these things are done around noon so as not to disturb people, I think it's a great disrespect! ☺️ In the morning, the air conditioner started working on its own and I slept soundly the next day. I asked the interested boyfriend not to turn off the air conditioner, because the room cools down immediately. Thank you very much for not closing, I had a good 2 nights. 🙏🏻☺️ But I couldn't take a shower because there was no hair dryer.. 😣

The location is very central, you can walk everywhere, which is great. But be prepared as there is no market nearby. You can walk to the bus or train station in 20 minutes
