Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe really enjoyed staying at the beautiful Zampa Riad. The staff were attentive, kind, and helpful in every way. Rachida made us delicious breakfasts every morning. Abou was kind, friendly, and pleasant to talk to. We provided everything we needed at the Riad. Thank you

United StatesThe riad is located in a small alley near the medina, and there are some children and young adults who will attempt to be your "tour guide" to get you back to the riad in exchange for money for them and their friends. A simple "la shakran" is usually enough to get them to back off.
The staff were helpful and hospitable, the rooms were lovely, and the food was good. It's a relaxing place to stay. I loved the terrace area at the top, and there's a sweet housecat that may join you for breakfast on the terrace!

PortugalAbdoul from the staff was very helpful and kind. The Riad is a little hard to find and I had trouble finding the nearest parking lot because of a Google Maps error, but Abdoul came to meet me where I was stranded, helped me get to the parking and then walked with me to the Riad, also helping with the baggage. Room and bathroom were very nice, clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good. <it takes a little walking to get to the main tourist attractions, but the Riad itself is excellent and well priced. I would not hesitate to book it again if I return to Marrakech.

FranceOne of the three single beds was very uncomfortable.
We were looked after by Abdul, who went the extra mile to ensure we had the best stay possible. His service alone was enough to make us feel we would be very happy staying there again. The breakfast was delicious, and the location is an easy 20ish minute walk into the centre. We found it was nice to have the centre within walking distance, but not too close that it was too loud. The room was very clean and was serviced daily.

United KingdomPersonally I didn't have any problems with the narrow foot paths which share the same route for both walkers & motorcyclists into the centre from this location. Shared walking & motorcycling space is characteristic to Marrakech & so too this neighbourhood. The locals are tuned into tourists on foot but if you are of a nervous disposition or unsteady on your feet then this location may not be for you. Personally I loved this as part of the authentic adventure & experience of Marrakech - so different from our very well defined highways!!
From the moment I arrived at this Riad I felt I had hit the jackpot! The daily warm welcome of the hospitable staff was very special, my bedroom & ensuite were beautiful, the food was varied and of a high standard, the facilities felt spacious, I loved the terrace for morning & evening meals, the inside dining spaces were beautiful too. The photos don't do the beautiful interior and exterior space justice. I loved staying in the heart of a neighbourhood, mingling amongst local folks going about their daily routines, children on their school commute, others returning from the local Souk family shopping trip or just chatting on street corners. All ages at all times of day, evening & night, walking & motorcycling about. I found the location to be friendly, authentic & entirely safe. The surrounding area may feel run down but the locals are 'the salt of the earth' and only a smile or hello away from making you feel welcome amongst them. They readily reciprocate your interest in them, just a hello in passing on route is all that is required to feel at home. I LOVED my daily commute in & out of the characteristically gentle bustle of this neighbourly area. Once you get into the heart of Marrakech the pace is busy and necessarily slow so I loved the good 20-30 minute stretch of a walk in, with plenty to entertain the senses on route. So much quieter than being in the touristy centre too. A beautiful end of day retreat to this peaceful Riad. It was tricky remembering my route to & from my location because of so many (wonderfully intricate) paths turning left & right but that is all part of the authentic charm of this ancient Medina location. Google Maps was essential for finding my route in & out each day. There are also good Riad speciific signage nearer the final location to guide you in too. Keep your phone charged & you'll be fine.

United KingdomBed was a little hard and pillow on the tall side.
Excellent breakfast. Quiet environment on the terrace. We unfortunately had a cancelled flight, so we contacted Isabella and she kindly gave us a free meal as compensation despite not needing to do so as we had booked through 3rd party and not directly with her.

GermanyI recently had the pleasure of staying at Riad Dar Zampa in Marrakech, and I can't recommend it highly enough! From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the riad's beautiful design and peaceful atmosphere—a true oasis in the heart of the city. What truly made my stay unforgettable was the incredible hospitality. Abdoul, the hotel manager, went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. His warmth, attentiveness, and knowledge of the local area made my visit extra special. He even arranged some fantastic tours for me, which were well-organized and gave me a wonderful glimpse into the beauty and culture of Marrakech. The rooms were spotlessly clean, a testament to the riad's impeccable standards. The food was absolutely delicious—each meal felt like a lovingly prepared experience of Moroccan flavours. And I can’t forget Bella, the sweet and friendly riad cat, who added an extra touch of charm to my stay! If you're visiting Marrakech and looking for a charming, welcoming, and authentic experience, Riad Dar Zampa is the perfect choice. A huge thank you to Abdoul, Bella, and the rest of the team for making my stay so memorable. I can't wait to return!

United KingdomI don't post these as 'negatives' per se - just for others awareness of some things to consider. - mattresses were a little on the firm side and the beds were a little creaky. - as much as I loved the location, as it's situated outside the main tourist area in a more local area, you're around 15min walk from restaurants in the evening (if you're not eating at the Riad). You're around 35-40min walk to Jemaa el-fna square, but it's pretty enjoyable (and sometimes exhausting) stroll through the souks.
Had a fantastic stay at Riad Dar Zampa. I wanted somewhere with a terrace that I could sit and do a bit of work from during the mornings and then use as a base to explore Marrakech later in the day - RDZ ticked all those boxes! Lovely authentic Riad feel with great decor and a relaxed, peaceful, and homely atmosphere. A special mention to the staff at the Riad for making my stay extra enjoyable - the place was spotlessly clean, and the food was delicious. (Make sure you eat at the Riad during your stay, the couscous is fantastic!). Abdou is an absolute credit to the Riad - friendly, helpful, always on hand to assist, and most importantly a really great guy to chat with. I had read a few negative comments about the location to the Riad in comparison to some others, however with RDZ being in the Northern end of the Medina away from the main tourist trails it gave me the authentic and peaceful experience I was hoping for. I loved that it was nestled in amongst homes for many local families, and that to get some snacks or drinks I could go to one of a few 'hole-in-the-wall' small shops nearby to practice my very rusty French with the shopkeepers. I can understand some of the comments from people about the area perceptiona little unsafe - but this was far from my own experience. Everybody I met was very pleasant (just local families living their lives!). Yes there's a few groups of kids around who maybe want to make a few Dirham from you by 'showing you the way' to where you're going - but you'll get that everywhere in the Medina. Around RDZ I got the impression the kids just liked practicing their English/French with you and chancing their luck that they might be able to make a little pocket money! Another special mention to Bella the cat. I'm not usually a 'cat person' - but Bella and I were best of friends by the end of my stay!

United KingdomUnfortunately due to my mobility difficulties I did find it hard not having taxi pulling up outside but this is usual for most raids as they are within the narrower streets giving you a real morrocco experience. I did find the daily walk got easier as we learned the route and Abdul the assistant manager made things much easier by helping us with our bags and ordering our taxis and easiest pick up points.
The assistant Manager of the Raid made our trip exceptional. He looked after us all day making sure we had taxis and even walked us to our pickup points. Breakfast was very healthy and plenty of it. The meals were delicious. And the room was clean n comfortable and their cat was gorgeous. Very home like feel.
