Didn't get chance to look round Dunkerque as we were going elsewhere, so only got to see the beach briefly and enjoy a meal at a seafront restaurant, but it looks like a place we would have loved exploring so will come back one day.Guest review byVanessaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
We visited for family reasons and the trip perfect.
We visited for family reasons and the trip perfect. Everyone we met was extremely welcoming and kind. Last post ceremony was incredibly moving as was visiting Menin Gate. Very easy to get around on foot. Lots of nice places to eat and drink. The city is incredibly clean. Architecture beautiful.Guest review byMillibizUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Nieuwpoort consists of the main town which in a little distance inland, and Nieuwpoort-Bad which is at the seaside. Make sure you pick the right one. Nieuwpoort-Bad is one of the better Belgian seaside towns with shops, good hotels and apartments, and entertainment. It’s also a good base from which to drive or take the Littoral tram along the coast. Parking can be a pain, but most of the seaside towns offer 30mins free then €1 or €1.50 per hour. But you have to register your number plate and take a ticket for the free 30 mins option. Santos Palace in nearby Koksijde is a must visit for hot chocolate, waffles and patisserie.Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A beautiful apartment, spotlessly clean and in a great location, views from the balcony were amazing ! All round terrace so views from every room. Lift access from a free car parking space underneath the building. Kitchen had everything you need for but if you are coming by car remember to bring the little things like coffee, tea and sugar and a tea towel and maybe a coat hanger or two, me personally lived out of my case so it did not bother me too much but my friend hand her clothes on the coat pegs in the hallway. Not a biggie. There is a Lidl and Aldi about a mile away which was handy, but we did not see any other shops close by, it was February so possibly the shops are seasonal. Transport links very good, and we caught the coastal tram to Ostend which was just under 8 euros for a day pass, so you can hop on and off all day. I cannot say anything negative about the apartment and would highly recommendGuest review byrachelUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The Beach at Koksijde is absolutely stunning.
The Beach at Koksijde is absolutely stunning. There are plenty of Restraunts and beach bars. Friday Mornings there is a street market with local belgian foods and other small business vendors. Everything you could want on a beach vacation is easily accessible on ZeeLaan (Main Street) Taking advantage of the KustTram you can travel from DePanne to Ostende (where you can catch the train to Brugge - a definite must see)Guest review byR CraigUnited States - 2.0

We have decided to have a short nap at the hotel on our vacation tour. We have visited the hotel at 3:30am, receptionist opened a door for us, quick check in. Spacious room for family of four. One double bed and two single. Double bed was in separate room. Each room had a tv. Bathroom was with shower and separate bath. Comfy beds, clean. Stain on carpet and broken some curtains. Car park was full at the time we have arrived, we had to park on lawn next to entrance, other cars did the same.Guest review byJakubUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We really liked the café-restaurant La Favorite. It's the perfect place for lunch with mussels and fries or an afternoon tea with crêpes. Getting around Bray-Dunes is easy, and Plopsaland is just a short distance away.Guest review byKsenia - 8.0

Spent most of my time visiting places across the border in French Flanders, but chose to stay just outside Poperinge owing to its location and ease to get to places in both Belgium and France. Went into the town on two evenings to eat at restaurants of which one was ok and the other excellent. The other evenings I went to nearby Ieper. For adults I think that there is ample to do and see in Poperinge and the surrounding area for a couple of days, particulary if you have an interest WW1 or beer, which fortunately I do.Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 6.0
Dunkerque is a pretty seaside town.
Dunkerque is a pretty seaside town. The beach front reminds me of Knocke (Belgium), with a long sandy beach and long tidal reach. Lots of history for any Englishman, but very little to see. The museum is certainly interesting but focuses on the brave French army who defended Dunkerque rather than the drama of the amazing escape. As usual in any French town, don't feel hungry outside of opening hours (12-2pm for lunch and 7-10pm for dinner). Breakfast was very hard to find (one restaurant on the beach was open early and they had sold out of all the croisants and pain au chocolat!!)Guest review byTim J BlackmoreUnited Kingdom
