We stayed in building B which is in a quiet and cost courtyard with ancient ruins. The rooms have that charm of a historical building. There is a large wood-plated terrace in the courtyard, the purpose is unknown. The doors are automatic so it is quite convenient to move between buildings. Note that the hotel is not accessible as there are significant flights of stairs. The staff was always nice, helpful and welcoming

Our stay at Rayelin Hotel Istanbul Old City Special Category was excellent! The accommodation was comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, providing us with a warm welcome and professional service throughout our stay. The hotel's location is perfect for exploring Istanbul. Many attractions, such as Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, were nearby, allowing us easy access to the city. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast, which was abundant and diverse, offering us a selection of local and international dishes. In summary, our experience at Rayelin Hotel Istanbul Old City Special Category was outstanding. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul and hope to return soon!

Everything. This hotel is about 5-7 mins walk from Taksim Square; which has the Taksim Metro Station. Istiklal street which is probably the Istanbul Version of London’s Oxford St is just a minute or two from the hotel. Highly recommended if you’re travelling with large and/or heavy luggages since the hotel has a lift. All in all, great value for the price point.

The Best of Asia and Europe

The city of Istanbul offers a trip unlike any other, encompassing Asian and European cultures to create a heady mix of art, music and food. The amazing Old Town and the Sultanahmet are home to iconic Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. More history is hidden in the Topkapi Palace, where you can glimpse the splendour and opulence of Turkey’s Ottoman heritage.

If you prefer the fine art of bargaining to fine art, lose yourself in the Grand Bazar and maybe you’ll emerge with a hookah, some Turkish coffee, or even a carpet. The Spice Bazar further immerses you in the sights, smells, and tastes of Turkish culture.

Getting to Istanbul is an easy trip from Ataturk International Airport or Sabiha Gokcen Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel on the Asian side or a budget hostel in Taksim Square, Booking.com has over 1,000 great accommodations for your holiday in Istanbul.

    Such a vibrant city!

Such a vibrant city! So much to see and do, it's a bustle and hustle city that mixes the exotic with European style, with very many places to eat fabulous food, try delicacies such as stuffed mussels and deep-fried mussels, super ocakbasi to choose from, close-by the beautiful Bosphorus with its sparkling waters and twinkly nighttime lighting, ideal for a boat trip, or sit and have a super dinner in Bebek overlooking the panorama of Istanbul.

Had a lovely time in Istanbul - apart from being constantly mithered every time we went outside the hotel! Two women alone, constant stream of being approached when trying to shop. One person even waited outside the Basillica Cisterne for us, to take us to a carpet shop!! All this despite being told no numerous times. We bought nothing home with us which was a shame.

    We love Istanbul and Turkey.

We love Istanbul and Turkey. The history, culture, food and people are unique and we have already been a few times. With over 15 million people living in Istanbul there are areas where it could be cleaner but overall the hospitality industry over delivers in our opinion. The Turkish Riviera is great and we spend a week or more on the South coast after our Istanbul days.

It’s nice but you need to be careful with Taxis and certain areas of the city do not feel safe at all. The historical center is beautiful and the Asian side is amazing. Highly recommend to do the perfume workshops :)

    Istanbul surpassed my expectations.

Istanbul surpassed my expectations. As well and being full of beautiful buildings and a superb waterside location, it was surprisingly clean, free of graffiti and felt extremely safe. The blue mosque is free to enter and is stunning. I was, however, disappointed with the Hagia Sofia because, having reverted to being a Mosque again in 2020, you are limited to viewing the inside from the gallery level only. Many of the major attractions have considerably high entrance fees. The trams and metros are a great way of exploring the city.

The hotel is located nearby Taksim square, a nice start to explore Istanbul. The staff is really friendly and helpfull A++ From Istanbul airport you could take a taxi to the hotel for around 700-800 Lira. They don`t offer breakfast but have coffee, coockies, water and some fruits available in the lobby. Around the hotel are plenty of restaurants where you can have your breakfast.
