A gorgeous, charming boutique hotel, located in the centre of historic Canterbury. Quirky historic building with modern interior design features. Perfect location for exploring this beautiful city. The rooms are beautiful and spotlessly clean, absolutely loved the luxurious toiletries, Verden is my favourite brand, great tea selection too. The breakfast was not your typical breakfast buffet and in fact a lovely menu cooked to order, it was delicious.

Thanington Hotel is a charming 18th-century property with an indoor swimming pool, spa and free Wi-Fi. Canterbury town centre and cathedral are a 15-minute walk away.

We stayed in the four-poster room and found it very comfortable for our 4 night stay. Large room and bathroom, plenty of mirrors and good lighting. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh, high-quality ingredients and plenty of choice. The pool was a lovely treat to come back to after a big day out. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the centre of Canterbury, and having on-site parking was a real bonus. The only minor downside was that the room was quite warm, and there’s no air conditioning—though this seems common in the UK. Being on a main road, there was a bit of traffic noise when the windows were open. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would definitely return. The staff were also exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Wasn't expecting air conditioning in an older building like this, really helped because we arrived during a bit of a heat wave. Nice touch to have a continental breakfast delivered to the room in the morning. Very close to the city centre and walking distance from the cricket ground - we had come to visit some friends and see Kent vs Durham.

Abode Canterbury is definitely the best hotel in town! The rooms are top of the line and fitted with one of the most comfortable mattresses that I’ve had the pleasure to sleep on. Everything about Abode is impeccable and the atmosphere wonderful. Breakfast is delicious and you can even place an order on your door knob at night for breakfast in your room. If you can afford it, this is one of the best hotel experiences overall. All of this plus the fact Abode is located in the heart of the Old High Street and a real relaxing and pleasurable experience. A really comfortable and lovely Hotel.
