A hidden gem! A fantastic Ryokan experience off the beaten track outside of the tourist highway!. Staff were amazing and very attentive to our every need. Most were not able to speak much english but with their enthusiasm and kindness we worked it all out. Highly recommend a stay here if you want to experience a traditional Ryokan. All meals are served in your room> They provide so much to make your stay pleasant from a massage chair, telescope and private hot bath all with the most beautiful view of the lake> Wish we could have stayed an extra night to soak up all the traditions and old Japanese customs

Family onsen rooms are a pleasant surprise to us. It allowed us to shower and onsen as a family. The restaurant staff were all so friendly and kind, and they always prepared baby chair and baby bowl and utensils for our toddler. The location is convenient as there is a combini nearby for snacks - the hotel has its own shop too. The room was spacious, though unlike other Ryokans I've stayed at, the mattresses didn't get put away during the day - no biggie though as we didn't spend much time in the room during the day.

Fine historic hotel, carefully maintained without, however, affecting the elegance of bygone days. Spacious rooms with every comfort. Exceptional onsen with views of the woods, very high level of the Japanese-style restaurant.

One of my best experiences in Japan. The hotel is very pretty with lots of bamboo decorations. There are 2 common onsens available both with indoor and outdoor pools plus there are 3 small private onsens that are first come first serve but you can get it if you are patient. I would get back here for sure.

Best hotel we've ever stayed in! Meals were out of this world, comparable to michelin star restaurants we went to in Tokyo. The service was incredible. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, great amenities with private onsen. Very relaxing and enjoyable experience, we will definitely be returning!

From the authentic interiors to the attentive staff, Fukuzumiro offers an ideal respite from the outside world. The kaiseki-ryōri was some of the best I've ever had and the relaxing waters of the various baths can make a person forget all their troubles.

I'm not a garden person. I see most gardens and I'm like, "Oh cool. Flowers." So please understand the gravity of the situation when I tell you that this hotel's extensive, beautifully curated, lovingly maintained garden is like something out of a storybook. This is not a garden to look at or have a coffee in. This is a garden to get lost in, to put on a medieval gown and pretend to be the Lady of the Lake in. It is an entire living ecosystem. The river running through it has crabs! Crabs!! My boyfriend and I spent nearly a whole day just taking pictures - of the garden, of ourselves in the garden, and of all the interesting creatures that live there. The public baths were also gorgeous (really just walled-off sections of that amazing garden) and very clean. They offer a bunch of skincare and bodycare products that you can use after getting out of the baths. They also give free skincare and sheet masks in the room, which was great! We had a "Hollywood room" with a private onsen and beds instead of futons. The beds were comfy and the private onsen was lovely. I would 100% stay here again.

Brilliantly relaxing setting, very comfortable and cosy rooms and the onsen was amazing. I opted for the Japanese dinner which was such an unique experience with delicious food. Welcome drink service was a lovely surprise too! Conveniently bus stops are 5 minute walk from the resort, so moving around is easy even without car. I have already recommended this resort to many of my friends who are looking to visit the area!

We enjoyed our stay at Yoshimatsu Ryokan. It was one of the highlight of our honeymoon trip. The staff delivered amazing level of hospitality. The place and food were lovely, relaxing and excellent for couple trip. There was a private ryokan which we used a few times during our stay. Everything was excellent and the hotel even organised a bus shuttle to take us to our next destination after - highly recommended.
